Laura Dern says she runs ‘everything’ by her good pal Reese Witherspoon before making a decision

As a dedicated follower of the entertainment industry, I can wholeheartedly affirm that the bond between Laura Dern and Reese Witherspoon is one for the ages. Their friendship, forged during the making of Wild, has grown into a sisterhood that transcends the silver screen.

Whenever Laura Dern requires guidance, she instantly knows the person to contact – her trusted lifelong friend, Reese Witherspoon.

During the recent Hello Sunshine’s Shine Away event in Los Angeles on Saturday, I openly shared, as a committed follower, that I am 57 years old.

To put it in my own words as a devoted admirer, I confide that I consult Reese on every matter under the sun. This esteemed Oscar winner shared this insight into our close relationship, revealing how she relies on her versatile friend for guidance on everything from navigating my romantic life to choosing career opportunities.

The conversation turned that way after the panel guests —  which included Witherspoon, 48, and Octavia Spencer, 54 — were asked about (female) networks the Jurassic Park star has cultivated through her long career.

Dern is the daughter of actors Bruce Dern, 88, and Diane Lane, 88.

She shared that growing up with four to five actress-turned-writers or producers/directors taught her a valuable lesson: they had no exclusive inner circle; instead, they relied on and supported one another.

‘And that sisterhood drove them,’ she added.

One way to rephrase this could be: “Just like Jane Fonda, my mother, and a remarkable band of women, who realized they needed to be part of the narrative themselves, these trailblazers paved the way for us to comprehend their stories.

In a recent statement, the actress from Big Little Lies expressed, “I was incredibly fortunate to view things through such a unique perspective, and it was an even greater blessing to discover camaraderie on this set.

The pals became close friends when they were making 2014’s Wild.

In the heart-wrenching drama adaption of Cheryl Strayed’s “Wild,” I found myself starring at Reese Witherspoon, who embodied her character so beautifully. But it was none other than Laura Dern, playing Witherspoon’s mother, that stole my breath away. Her performance in this Pacific Crest Trail journey from lost to found left an indelible mark on me as a devoted fan.

They frequently post pictures of their joint escapades on social media platforms, be it sipping coffee or attending award ceremonies.

The pair are expected to work together, eventually, on Big Little Lies season three.

As a lifestyle expert, I must confess that the demand for this popular show is undeniably high, with fans eagerly anticipating each episode featuring the captivating trio of Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley. However, it seems to be quite the challenge coordinating schedules among such busy stars, making it difficult to find a time when all three can be present.

In an interview with Witherspoon, which was published in June by Vanity Fair, Kidman stated that the pace is swift and dynamic.

‘Liane [Moriarty] is delivering the book. We’re in good shape,’ she claimed.

Until then Witherspoon and Dern both have plenty of projects to keep them busy in front of and behind the camera.
