Massive pop star ‘set for really special slot at Glastonbury 2025 for the first time in almost a decade’
As a die-hard Ed Sheeran fan who has followed his career since the days of “The A Team,” I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear about the possibility of him performing at Glastonbury 2025. Having seen him live at Worthy Farm back in 2017, I can attest that there is nothing quite like the energy and camaraderie of a crowd singing along to “Shape of You” or “Thinking Out Loud.
Ed Sheeran has been tipped to perform at Glastonbury 2025.
As a devoted fan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting news about my favorite pop star’s upcoming performances. You may recall that we last saw him grace the stage at Worthy Farm festival back in 2017. Now, exciting reports are circulating suggesting he might secure a ‘unique performance’ on the Friday night before embarking on his European tour once more.
According to the source, Ed holds Glastonbury performances dear and appreciates having the opportunity to serenade a vast audience there.
‘He hasn’t got any big UK gigs lined up next summer, so this would be really special.’
Hinting further, it was suggested that since the popular artist known for ‘Shape of You’ boasts a multitude of famous friends, there might just be some unforgettable collaborations planned for the stage in late June.

The source mentioned: ‘Given his numerous connections with celebrities, it’s likely that some well-known collaborations will take place on stage with him, should the opportunity arise.’
Eight years have passed since the artist famously known for “Thinking Out Loud” last graced the main stage, where he took center stage at the Pyramid Stage and sang popular tunes like “Castle on the Hill” and “Lego House.
In that particular moment, he shared the spotlight with Radiohead and Foo Fighters, yet he playfully admitted feeling somewhat outmatched by the lineup.
In my own words, I shared with the BBC: “Clearly, I seem to be the unusual one among that lineup, but honestly, I find that quite thrilling!
Scant information is available regarding the performers for next year’s festival; however, it has been reported that organizers are making efforts to bring in Eminem as the main act.
Initially, there were rumors that Oasis would fill the Legend slot during their impressive reunion, but they clarified those weren’t true.
Emily Eavis, the organizer, has disclosed that the festival will need to pause the following year, which is customary to do so after approximately every four to five occurrences, according to tradition.
She told Glastonbury Free Press: ‘We’re taking a fallow year in 2026 to give the land a rest.
Planning the festivals preceding a fallow year is consistently enjoyable since there’s an unspoken challenge to cram twice the usual workload into a single year.

At the beginning of this year, Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA were the main acts, while Shania Twain performed in the Legends section.
In the upcoming year, Ed will embark on a European tour centered around Mathematics, however, following the launch of his studio albums named +, ÷, x, =, and -, he has announced that he will no longer use mathematical themes in his album titles.
Speaking on the Australian ‘Carrie Tommy’ podcast, he said: ‘That’s it. There’s only five.
‘The other one will be out before I come to New Zealand [and Australia] to do the tour.”
