Jax Taylor calls Tom Sandoval his ‘best friend’ amid Brittany Cartwright divorce following rocky friendship

As a seasoned observer of the tumultuous world of reality TV, I must say that Jax Taylor’s life seems to be a rollercoaster ride without a safety hatch. From his latest divorce drama to the cheating allegations and subsequent reconciliations, it appears that Jax’s life has been a whirlwind of ups and downs, much like the unpredictable weather in Kentucky where he recently sought refuge.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share the latest scoop about my favorite Vanderpump Rules duo – Jax Taylor! Even amidst the challenges of his divorce from Brittany Cartwright, he proudly referred to Tom Sandoval as his ‘closest confidant’, reminding us all of their enduring bond.

45-year-old celeb from The Valley, who recently reinitiated divorce proceedings by hiring attorney of Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline, disclosed that they have been spending time together following an approach from the Vanderpump Rules personality, aged 42.

On the latest edition of the When Reality Hits podcast, which aired on Thursday, Taylor was asked questions by fans, including whether Sandoval had contacted him following his separation from Cartwright.

Jax, who stayed at a mental health center for thirty days in August, stated, “In truth, Tom Sandoval has contacted me more than anyone else, which might surprise many.

He was merely inquiring about my well-being, which came as quite a surprise since it had been ages since I last received a message from Tom. Now, however, we seem to chat almost every day, catching up at least three or four times a week.

Taylor has been spending a tad more time with him recently. He often drops by the bar and performs karaoke.

Fun fact, he’s currently on tour, yet I recently spent time with him, along with his mom and dad. It was truly wonderful catching up with him.

Later on, Jax shared with his podcast audience, “Tom is someone I deeply care for, and that affection remains constant, regardless of his actions. Apart from Tom Schwartz, they are my two closest friends.

I couldn’t help but say, ‘Life is full of errors, but we have to learn and let go. At some stage, we must extend forgiveness to one another.’

Over time, those two stars have experienced ups and downs in their relationship, a dynamic that has been evident throughout the first eight seasons of the popular Bravo show, Vanderpump Rules.

Towards the end of 2020, Taylor made it known that he was leaving the series, along with Brittany Cartwright who also decided to part ways at that time.

In my previous chapter of life, I found myself unwittingly entangled in a high-profile infidelity situation – let’s call it the “Scandoval” – after I crossed the line with a fellow cast member, Rachel, while I was in a relationship with Ariana.

In response to the unveiling of the scandal, Jax had earlier commented critically about Sandoval, and in March 2023, he further alleged on Watch What Happens Live that his ex-castmate had been unfaithful to Ariana with multiple women.

A couple of months after the affair’s fallout, Taylor criticized Tom for asking Brittany Cartwright to his event.

In an episode of The Toast podcast, Jax expressed to host Claudia Oshry that Sandoval can be incredibly thoughtless and out of touch.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me share an experience: Recently, I was in Louisville for a performance with my band. I quickly shot Brittany a message, “Hey, if you happen to know anyone in Louisville, it would be fantastic to see you! Swing by and catch our show. I’ll manage to get you free tickets.

According to Taylor, he picked up his phone and sternly said, “Please stop messaging my wife. It’s completely inappropriate.” This is a more polite and respectful way of expressing the same sentiment.

Aren’t you thoughtless and oblivious in this situation? Don’t you understand that Brittany is close friends with all these girls? How might Brittany react to your actions?” It’s as if a murderer who kills their family then goes to a social gathering.

As a fervent admirer, I couldn’t help but voice my suspicions when I called out Sandoval for his apparent infidelities in each of his relationships. However, the icing on the cake was seeing Ariana flourish post-breakup with Tom, which only served to strengthen my convictions.

However, on a recent episode of his podcast, which took place a year after the cheating scandal, Jax expressed his bewilderment about the ordeal Tom has faced, saying, “I find it hard to grasp what he’s been through.

“The Scandoval incident garnered attention across the country. It’s essential to keep in mind the ordeal that Tom Sandoval endured, regardless of personal feelings towards him.

Taylor remarked, ‘He had faced numerous difficulties. He was responsible for them. His actions were deeply regrettable, yet the world seemed to harshly judge him.’

Back in March, Jax clarified to Us Weekly that he did not accuse Tom Sandoval of infidelity.

‘That had nothing to do with it…Everybody on the show has cheated. My anger issue was how Sandoval handled it afterward. He didn’t stay here. He didn’t take the bullets.’

Also on Thursday, Jax notably refiled from divorce from his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright. 

During their divorce process, the TV figure engaged the lawyer who previously represented Britney Spears’ former spouse, Kevin Federline, following the initial filing of divorce papers by Cartwright in August.

He countered with his own filing requesting a dissolution of marriage, and according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Taylor listed Mark Vincent Kaplan as his attorney.

Following Cartwright’s critique, it was revealed that he had submitted his divorce papers with mistakes, as he hadn’t consulted any legal professionals beforehand.

In the previous month, he filed the paperwork without legal representation, unknowingly ticking a box that stated they (he and Cartwright) had not been lawfully wedded at any point.

The Vanderpump Rules alum also gave an inaccurate timeline of their relationship.

While Cartwright stated that they had separated on January 24, 2024, privately, Taylor asserted that their official separation didn’t occur until September 26, 2024.

Additionally, it appeared that he mistakenly marked the option “other” in the section concerning child support for their son Cruz.

In an effort to clear up any misunderstandings arising from errors and inconsistencies that have surfaced recently, I, as a lifestyle expert, decided to hop on social media and offer some clarifications.

In response to an E! News post, I shared that my partner and I have officially tied the knot legally. Seems like some folks might find the paperwork a bit challenging.

Taylor’s current lawyer has worked on high-profile cases before, such as those involving celebrities like Charlie Sheen, Paula Abdul, and Federline during his court battles with Britney Spears, in the context of their divorce proceedings.

In 2015, I started a relationship with Brittany, but unfortunately, in the year 2017, I confessed to her about an indiscretion in our past – a transgression that involved cheating on her.

In 2018, they got engaged, and in June 2019, they had a beautiful wedding ceremony in Kentucky.

After their separation, the estranged parents share a son named Cruz who is three years old. Subsequently, Brittany petitioned for full custody of their young child.

Earlier this week, Jax asked a judge to grant Cartwright full legal and physical custody of Cruz.
