As a lifestyle expert with years of personal experience under my belt, I wholeheartedly approve of Joy Behar’s houseguest rules. In my own humble abode, I too have implemented similar guidelines to maintain sanity and preserve my precious time.

Joy Behar has never been one to mince words on The View.

It’s not surprising at all that she maintains the same openness and frankness in her private life, even regarding matters like hosting guests at home.

On a recent installment of the Behind The Table podcast, she shared memories from before her fame, reminiscing about times when friends and visitors would often lodge at her residence.

‘I used to have a 24-hour rule that I’d tell people,’ she said.

Prior to having the means to hire a housekeeper, I did have a small house located elsewhere. Instead of washing your linens for you, I would ask that you bring your own sheets and towels whenever you visited and take them back home with you after your stay.

She also stressed the importance of knowing when your guests are arriving – and leaving.

The talk show host asserted, “I take this matter seriously, and I won’t hesitate to ask, ‘Are you arriving on Friday and departing on Sunday?’

‘Also I don’t really feel like cooking for a bunch of people. I’m not running an Airbnb, okay?’

It’s uncertain whether Behar continues to adhere to those same principles, or if she has become more relaxed following the accumulation of a substantial wealth through her stint on The View.

Based on OK Magazine reports, the comedian earns roughly $7 million annually from her role on the popular daytime program.

Previously, Entertainment Tonight learned from Behar herself that the main reason she has continued with The View for so long is financial matters.

In 2017, I snagged a stunning two-bedroom, three-bathroom abode on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, nestled conveniently close to the ABC studios. The property set me back a cool $2.4 million. It’s been a fantastic addition to my urban living experience ever since!

In contrast, when she isn’t busy with work, her primary home is an exquisite four-bedroom house valued at more than $7 million, located in the picturesque Sag Harbor.

In 2021, she officially handed over the ownership of her second home in the Hamptons to her daughter Eve, as documented by records.

While Behar certainly boasts an enviable net worth, it’s nothing compared to that of her co-host Whoopi Goldberg.

The actress who played the lead in Sister Act is believed to have a net worth of approximately $60 million. A significant portion of this wealth stems from her earnings of $8 million for her role on The View.

She’s among a select group of only 19 artists who have achieved the prestigious EGOT, which stands for winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award.
