Vote for House of the Dragon, Matt Smith and Olivia Cooke in the 2025 TV Choice Awards
As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for epic narratives and dragons, I must say the TV Choice Awards have caught my attention this year! With the opportunity to cast my vote and potentially rub shoulders with the stars of House of the Dragon, it’s an offer that’s hard to resist.
It’s always awards season somewhere. A couple days ago, the TV Choice Awards revealed the nominees for the 2025 ceremony, to be held at The Hilton on Park Lane on February 10, 2025 in London, England. One of the unique things about this particular ceremony is that they let the ordinary public vote. What’s more, just by voting, you can get entered into a contest where you could get chosen to attend the ceremony, where you’ll enjoy a three-course meal and pal around with whatever stars show up. There are 21 categories to vote on in all. What’s the downside?
At this specific awards event, it appears that the spotlight is on British shows and performers since the event takes place in London. For enthusiasts of the House of the Dragon, there are several opportunities to support your beloved Game of Thrones spin-off series. Notably, House of the Dragon is up for “Best Drama Series,” and its stars Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen) and Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower) are both nominated in the “Best Drama Performance” category. It’s all down to your votes to help them win!
Make sure you submit your votes by noon on October 15, Tuesday. It’s quite a swift procedure if you’re keen. I wasn’t aware of the TV Choice Awards earlier, and they don’t seem to be very prestigious; for that, you might want to wait for the announcement of the 2025 Emmy Awards nominations instead. However, I appreciate that it offers public voting, and any opportunity for House of the Dragon to receive some award recognition is appreciated.
The second season of “House of the Dragon” concluded in August, with fans likely having to wait until 2026 for the third season to air. In the interim, a new “Game of Thrones” prequel series titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is set to debut on HBO and Max in 2025.
