On Thursday, Claudia Winkleman had an uncommon occasion to spend time with her spouse Kris Thykier, as they attended a glamorous event at the Chiltern Firehouse, which marked its 10-year anniversary and brought together numerous celebrities.
52-year-old host of Strictly Come Dancing took a brief respite from her hosting responsibilities to attend an elegant gathering with her spouse, who they’ve been married for 24 years.
Demonstrating her unique fashion flair, Claudia chose a stylish black velvet jacket and a crisp white blouse with buttons, paired with leggings and tall boots.
Following the masked ball motif, they both donned identical masks, making their entrance to the gathering together.
The Chiltern Firehouse made sure to commemorate their anniversary elegantly, as celebrities like Ellie Goulding, Sienna Miller, and Lily Allen graced the event.
Once more, Claudia is partnering with Tess Daly for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 as co-hosts, and her unexpected revelation during last Sunday’s episode left viewers in a state of shock.
In the ‘Clauditorium’, as the contestants who advanced sat comfortably on a blue couch, host Claudia announced a major surprise for the upcoming week.
It was disclosed that during the third week of the contest, themed as Movie Week, professional dancer Gorka Marquez and his celebrity partner Dr. Punam Krishan will perform the inaugural Couple’s Choice dance routine of the season.
2018 saw the introduction of the Couple’s Choice, a dance move where the professional dancer and their partner can freely choreograph a performance without being confined to a specific style within Latin or Ballroom dancing.
Still, many fans were taken aback by the news, as the “Couple’s Choice” typically isn’t presented until a later stage of the show.
Addressing both Gorka and Dr. Punam, Claudia stated: ‘It appears that you two are making the initial couple’s selection for this series.’
Gorka stated that the way they are dancing is unique and unprecedented, as this particular dance style hasn’t been performed before.
Refusing to give anymore away, the other contestants shared their delight with a flurry of gasps.
Yet, not everyone found pleasure in the couples’ decision to proceed early in the contest, leading some spectators to express their discontent on platform X.

In the sixteenth season, for the first time, a “Couples’ Choice” category was presented. This allowed participating pairs to select from among three distinct dance styles: contemporary, theater/jazz, or street/commercial, to showcase their skills.
Until Series 19, those three styles were employed, after which point, the dancing duo was free to choose any style for their performances, abandoning the necessity for a particular dance style.
Additionally, during the results segment, viewers were equally shocked when Olympic swimmer Tom Dean became the initial celebrity to be ousted from the dance contest.
