The Boulet Brothers' season 666 episode 1 spoilers: Welcome to Hell!

As a seasoned gamer of all things horror and drag, I must say that The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula has once again managed to send shivers down my spine and tickle my fancy with their sixth season, affectionately dubbed Season 666.

I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of the excitement as “The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula” returns for its sixth installment, or as they ominously refer to it: Season 666! This season promises a fresh batch of eleven competitors and one returning Queen, making the premiere episode an epic, extended 90-minute extravaganza.

Indeed, the initial encounter among competitors was marked by catty behavior, with each one trying to outshine the others by casting subtle insults. Initially captivated by Asia Consent, Severity, Majesty (previously James Majesty from Dragula’s second season), Grey Matter, Jaharia, and Aurora.

Upon entering, Asia’s debut was met with less-than-favorable reactions due to the fact that one of the playful animals grabbed her wig. Some speculated that she had intentionally decided not to wear a wig. Scylla faced mockery as her armor was left uncovered.

Upon entering the theater, the group was first met by last year’s champion, Niohuru X, followed by the Boulets appearing on the large screen. Drac and Swan warmly welcomed the newcomers and announced that their initial task would be a legacy challenge called “Horror Icons Reimagined.” The victor of the floor show contest would receive a $2,500 shopping extravaganza at Fierce Queen Shoes as a prize.

Initially, they needed to make their way through the Terrifying Tomb, as it concealed a secret prophecy. Whoever discovered this prophecy would receive protection during the initial contest. This tomb was quite challenging, and in the end, Scylla managed to uncover the prophecy.

Upon arriving at their command center, an array of stylish items awaited the queens. As they sorted through their acquisitions, they engaged in conversation, discussing potential rivals and those they believed might not survive.

Prior to the start of the spectacle, the Boulets presented our panel of judges: Jamie Clayton, known for her role in Hulu’s “Hellraiser”, and Akela Cooper, a writer who has contributed to movies like “Malignant” and “M3GAN”.

Moving forward, I found myself captivated by the floor show. Some performances were awe-inspiring, like Asia’s portrayal of Art the Clown that sent chills down my spine. Others, such as Yuri’s Dracula, left me feeling a bit underwhelmed, particularly with the room for improvement in the costume transformation aspect. Scylla’s rendition of The Human Centipede, while creative, didn’t quite ignite the same spark within me. In a strategic move, Scylla wisely opted to safeguard her immunity by using her scroll on herself.

Upon their return to the cauldron, the Boulets discussed their thoughts on the floor show’s performance, while Swanthula characterized the fresh acting crew as disorderly. Whether this is advantageous or not depends on one’s perspective, I suppose.

Stepping back into the limelight, it was me, Grey Matter, Vivi, Jaharia, Desiree, and Pi who were summoned. We were told we made it through, but the stage wasn’t quite ready for our departure yet (uh-oh). The top performers this time around were Asia Consent, Auntie Heroine, who rocked a fabulous drag take on Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, and Majesty, channeling the enigmatic Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Unfortunately, it seemed Aurora’s mummy, Severity’s Candyman (lacking in originality and energy), and Yuri, whose performance and costume were deemed “clumsy,” didn’t quite hit the mark this time.

In an unexpected turn of events, Asia Consent emerged victorious in the competition. However, the Boulets had a surprise up their sleeves: instead of them or the judges deciding who would participate in the next elimination round, it was now the contestants themselves who would cast their votes. The catch? Scylla, having earned immunity, was exempt from this vote.

Ultimately, Severity and Aurora found themselves facing off in a high-stakes underwater elimination contest. They were led out to the ocean, where they had no choice but to plunge into waters teeming with sharks without any safety enclosure. Despite their palpable fear, they bravely entered the water.

In a customary fashion, Severity chose to re-enter the boat ahead of Aurora, departing for the competition. As per an old tradition, the Boulets subsequently took Severity’s life by shattering her reflection in the dressing room mirror.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t wait to unveil the surprises that next week’s Dragula episode holds at the table! I feel a pang of regret that Severity didn’t have an opportunity to make amends, but it seems like her nerves simply overpowered her performance.
