As a lifelong fan of cinema and comics, witnessing Nicolas Cage embody the dark and gritty Spider-Man Noir is nothing short of a dream come true. With his uncanny ability to bring characters to life through his captivating performances, I have no doubt that he will breathe new life into this iconic Marvel character.

Nicolas Cage is continuing to work on scenes for the upcoming series Spider-Man Noir.

This week, a 60-year-old actor was seen shooting scenes outside a Los Angeles church, clutching a pretend Daily Bugle newspaper.

The literature featured a headline that read, ‘Silvermane Survives in Skivvies,’ referencing Silvio Manfredi, a criminal in the Marvel Comics.

The character goes on to become a crime boss after being a career criminal.

The plot summary indicates that the show revolves around a struggling, aged private investigator named Cage, living in 1930s New York. His past catches up to him as he was once the city’s lone superhero, compelling him to confront his history.

On set on Thursday, I assumed the leading character, donning a sleek black fedora, a dark, enigmatic coat, and a sharp gray three-piece suit.

He was clean-shaven and rounded out his look with a pair of black shoes.

2018’s animated film Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse marked the debut of Shameik Moore voicing the character.

Currently, the character is undergoing a live-action adaptation for the Amazon Prime Video series, with Cage being spotted filming scenes as of Tuesday.

In the year 2008, Spider-Man Noir made his debut in the comics. He’s a grittier, ethically complex take on the original Spider-Man character.

Here, Spider-Man occasionally uses aggressive tactics when combating criminal organizations.

In his new roles, Cage adopts an appearance similar to Humphrey Bogart, one of his inspirations for portraying this character, as stated back in 2018.

Six years ago, Cage told Entertainment Weekly about attempting to emulate the style of dialogue from noir films featuring actors like Bogart, with a hint of the sounds Cagney or Edward G. Robinson might have made. In other words, he wanted to speak in a similar manner to how those actors did.

It was announced in May that Cage was cast in Noir.

The Oscar-winning entertainer has never been a regular on a TV series before.

Approximately two months prior to the official announcement of the new show, he hinted at considering the role of Spider-Man Noir for a small-screen adaptation.

In a conversation with Collider, he disclosed that they’ve had discussions. It’s not hidden that he adores the character. He believes the character offers another intriguing blend or mix-up.
