Drew Barrymore recalls kissing Chloë Sevigny in a bathroom in the 1990s: ‘It was just the sexiest’

In yesterday’s installment of my beloved talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, I, Drew, shared an intriguing tidbit from my past – a clandestine encounter in a bathroom with Chloë Sevigny during the 90s decade.
Reflecting on our time there, the mother of two reminisced about a truly wonderful stay at the Sunset Marquis Hotel. We shared many laughs and spent hours together over a delicious dinner. During this gathering, I spoke eagerly about a story that was close to my heart, which later transformed into a film titled ‘Boys Don’t Cry.’ Remarkably, Chloë not only starred in the movie but also received an Academy Award nomination for her role.
In simpler terms, the actress from Charlie’s Angels hinted that she might transform a private, amusing incident at the Sunset Marquis into a trivia challenge for her upcoming program.
‘We should! We’re entertainers!’ Sevigny, also 49, replied.
The artists chose a lady from the crowd to respond to a question, with a chance to win $1,000 if she got it right.
In the ’90s, we had a shared item in the bathroom. Can you guess what it could have been? Barrymore pondered, offering possibilities such as lipstick, a roll of toilet paper, or perhaps even a kiss.
Following the woman’s choice of lipstick as her last response, Barrymore pondered, “Indeed, there was a connection to lipstick.
‘It was the ‘90s!’ Sevigny said, with a laugh.
Barrymore stated: “It was the ’90s. It was a passionate kiss. We were carefree and living our best lives, and it was the sexiest, sweetest, most adorable moment.
Though I flubbed the response, I couldn’t resist gifting the lady from the crowd my $1,000 prize, with a wink and a playful request for her to treat herself by buying a stack of lipsticks!
In the course of the interview, Sevigny briefly touched upon her personal life by mentioning her relationship with her spouse, Siniša Mačković, whom she came to know through a common friend.
As an art enthusiast myself, I can’t help but share this intriguing tidbit: A friend of mine, who shares my passion for all things artistic, mentioned that she knows someone who works in a gallery. We often engage in stimulating conversations about art and its nuances, and she believes that you would find his wit utterly captivating.
Despite hitting it off right away, Sevigny admitted that she had to give him an ultimatum to move forward as a couple.
She reflected that during our dates, I had already made the decision to take action if he didn’t start initiating himself. In other words, ‘If you keep on not taking the lead, this relationship might end.’ And indeed, he assumed control afterwards.
In May 2020, actress Kalinda Sevigny quietly exchanged vows with Siniša Mačković at New York City Hall. Just under two months afterward, they became parents to a newborn child.
In my two years of blissful matrimony, I decided to commemorate this beautiful milestone by hosting an unforgettable celebration right in the quaint town where I spent my formative years – none other than Darien, Connecticut. My loved ones and I turned this special occasion into a lively gathering, making it a day we’ll cherish for years to come.
As an over-the-moon admirer, I’d share that, as told by Vogue, our stars first encountered each other through a common pal, but it wasn’t until they serendipitously ran into one another at a Gagosian gallery grand opening that they finally locked eyes in person.
They saw each other at social settings various times before they started dating.
Upon discovering their happy news, Sevigny and Mačković marked the occasion by taking a romantic retreat together in Turks and Caicos.
It was there her now-husband proposed and, shortly thereafter, the couple eloped in New York City.
Despite keeping most aspects of her personal family matters under wraps, Sevigny shared insights with The Cut prior to her son’s birth, discussing the moment she discovered the baby’s gender.
She admitted that when she discovered she was expecting a son, it took some adjustment for her, given her feminine nature and the fact that most of her friends are women. She often finds herself more comfortable around females, so she wondered aloud, “What on earth am I going to do with a boy?
Despite her initial hesitation, she shared that she was ‘thrilled and so excited about the whole thing.’
Previously, Sevigny revealed in an interview with LA Magazine in 2020 that their pregnancy was unexpected. They expressed surprise by saying, “It was quite a surprise. This was unplanned. I never thought I’d become a parent. I had resigned myself to the idea that it wouldn’t happen for me.
Sevigny gained significant recognition for portraying Nicolette Grant in the HBO television show, Big Love, a role she played from 2006 until 2011.
Throughout her professional journey, she has garnered a Golden Globe, Satellite Award, and Independent Spirit Award among others. Furthermore, she has received an Academy Award nomination and three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations as well.
