As a seasoned gamer of NASCAR races, with over a decade of virtual and real-life experiences under my belt, I can’t help but feel the excitement brewing for the 2025 Cup Series season! The shakeups and changes are as thrilling as any high-speed race, and this year is no exception.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that Kaulig Racing has just made a big move! They’ve grabbed the No. 10 from Stewart-Haas Racing, which is shutting down soon. In the upcoming 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, Daniel Hemric will no longer be driving the No. 10 Chevrolet. Instead, Ty Dillon will take over and race with it – interestingly, this car was previously the No. 31 Chevrolet! Can’t wait to see what unfolds on the tracks next year!

Previously announced that A.J. Allmendinger will rejoin the team for the complete 2025 Cup Series season following his shift from full-time Cup Series driver to full-time Xfinity Series driver post the 2023 season, their confirmation of Dillon and car number adjustment now solidifies their two-car lineup for the upcoming year.

While some other teams are yet to finalize their driving rosters, it’s certain that shifts will occur in all of the three teams under scrutiny. Here’s an overview of each situation.

Rick Ware Racing

Rick Ware Racing is often known for finalizing their driver roster towards the end, and they haven’t announced drivers yet for either their No. 15 or No. 51 Ford vehicles. Justin Haley drove the No. 51 during the 2024 season, but he has since switched to Spire Motorsports.

For the remainder of 2024, Corey LaJoie is stepping into Haley’s position within Rick Ware’s team. However, it’s yet to be determined if he will continue with the team in 2025. This year, the No. 15 Ford has been shared by Kaz Grala, Cody Ware, and Riley Herbst.

Front Row Motorsports

Front Row Motorsports could potentially find themselves involved in an ongoing charter disagreement, alongside 23XI Racing, yet they’ve secured a third charter for the 2025 season from Stewart-Haas Racing ahead of time.

Todd Gilliland, currently piloting the No. 38 Ford, is slated for another season with his team. However, it’s possible that he may switch numbers since Michael McDowell, who used the No. 34 Ford, is moving to Spire Motorsports. The team has recruited Noah Gragson from Stewart-Haas Racing to partner with Gilliland, but they have not yet announced a third driver for their lineup.

It is generally thought that Zane Smith, who clinched a Truck Series title for the team in 2022, might rejoin Bob Jenkins’ organization at the Cup level. This comes after he was replaced at Spire Motorsports and his development deal with Trackhouse Racing Team for 2025 was terminated.

Fourth Stewart-Haas Racing charter (Team TBD)

Gene Haas is keeping one of Stewart-Haas Racing’s four licenses to operate the Haas Factory Team, while another is being transferred to Front Row Motorsports and a third is going to Trackhouse Racing Team. These teams have also acquired Shane van Gisbergen’s No. 88 Chevrolet in addition to Ross Chastain’s No. 1 Chevrolet and Daniel Suarez’s No. 99 Chevrolet.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve heard whispers about 23XI Racing potentially adding a fourth team to field three cars. However, it’s not set in stone, considering the ongoing charter disagreement and legal action they’re engaged in with NASCAR.

If they decide to bring on a full-time driver, Riley Herbst appears to be the top contender. However, there’s also a possibility that they might share this role among several drivers, including Martin Truex Jr. and Corey Heim.

If Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan’s team decide to keep running with just two vehicles, RFK Racing could still potentially enter the race for a third charter.
