On Wednesday, Jocelyn Wildenstein appeared quite young while sharing a romantic dinner with her partner, Lloyd Klein, in Paris.
The Swiss socialite, 82, put on a glamorous display in a plunging mesh top for their evening out.
She slipped on a pair of snug, faux-leather leggings, elevated herself with peep-toe heels, and threw on a jacket adorned with fur trim for extra warmth.
It appeared that Jocelyn, who had declared herself financially strained following the conclusion of her divorce settlements last year, was again enjoying a lavish lifestyle in Paris.
The pair appeared deeply affectionate, just as they usually do, while walking towards the eatery and exchanging a sweet cheek kiss.
During the summer, the pair had an extravagant beach holiday in Miami, spending their days lounging on the premium VIP sunbeds at the opulent 1 Hotel South Beach, a top-tier five-star resort.
In more recent times, Jocelyn, a resident of New York City, has maintained a less visible presence. However, she is still easily identified due to her distinctive, Sphinx-like features and her expansive, golden hair.
She wore a black, deep-cut one-piece bathing suit, accessorised with oversized sunglasses.
Six years ago, when she declared bankruptcy, it seemed like her current opulent vacation was a distant dream, given the financial struggles she had earlier admitted to.
During the previous summer, she granted an uncommon talk where she stated that she found herself financially struggling, as she hadn’t received any earnings for eight consecutive years following her ex-spouse’s family terminating her access to the substantial yearly payment worth nine figures, which was agreed upon in her 1999 divorce settlement.
After accusing her wealthy husband, Alec N. Wildenstein, of infidelity, the secluded socialite secured a $2.5billion settlement, which includes an annual sum of $100million starting from that point on. The funds are distributed over time in equal portions.
During an interview with The Sunday Times in June 2023, she asserted that Alec, who passed away in 2008, had attempted to shift blame for their unsuccessful marriage onto her by alleging that he could no longer recognize his wife because of her numerous cosmetic surgeries, which ultimately led to her becoming well-known with that particular nickname.
She shared with the newspaper that she’s facing a significant challenge regarding her living situation, while simultaneously working on a new HBO documentary series about her personal life alongside her partner.
‘Since eight years, they have completely cut me off.’
In the year 1977, Jocelyn encountered Alec for the very first time at his Ol Jogi ranch, located to the north of Nairobi. The meeting took place as she embarked on a safari adventure alongside her companions.
Instead, they welcomed two kids, Diane and Junior, into their family, and enjoyed a comfortable life split between their Manhattan penthouse, a private family retreat in the British Virgin Islands, and their African estate.
After two decades of being married, Jocelyn ended the relationship due to her husband’s infidelity.
She expressed to The Sunday Times that it had become increasingly apparent. They were young women frequenting the same eateries as us, with no sense of secrecy or caution whatsoever.
In the course of the divorce, Jocelyn alleges that Alec began spreading rumors about her undergoing multiple facial transformations through plastic surgery as a tactic to gain an advantage in the divorce. She further states that he hired a publicist and compensated a surgeon to verify that she had drastically altered her appearance.
Jocelyn asserted, “I didn’t betray him because I never did.” She refuted her former spouse’s claim that she transformed into a monster, adding, “I don’t think he even knows me anymore.
‘He put all the blame on my face,’ Jocelyn said.
It was widely spoken about, but there were rumors suggesting that Alec, who is fond of cats, had influenced his spouse to undergo surgeries with the intention of making her appear more womanly.
He denied those claims in an interview with Vanity Fair at the time.
Alec firmly asserted, “She acted irrationally.” He went on to explain, “I’d often learn things after everyone else. She had this idea that she could alter her face like a piece of furniture, but skin doesn’t function in that manner. Yet, she refused to heed my advice.
Still, Jocelyn won the proceedings — taking home a settlement of $2.5billion with $100million guaranteed each year thereafter ‘to follow the lifestyle and the work of the 20 years’.
She was also allowed to keep her ex-husband’s last name.
However, it seems her luck ran out around 2015 – the year when Alec’s family stopped making her settlement payments. In 2018, she was forced to file for bankruptcy as a result.
