Jay Blades ‘hosts bizarre late night DJ sessions’ after being charged with controlling and coercive behaviour against his estranged wife

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that it’s always disheartening to see someone’s personal life take such a public turn for the worse. Jay Blades, once a beloved figure on our screens, now finds himself in a precarious position, facing charges and losing professional opportunities.

After getting let go from The Repair Shop, Jay Blades has started hosting unusual late-night music broadcasts online instead.

54-year-old speaker faced charges in September for the prolonged physical and emotional mistreatment of his spouse, Lisa Zbozen, spanning approximately 20 months.

As reported by The Mirror, Jay now hosts live streams at midnight, engaging in conversations with a limited audience that chooses to join him online.

Caught up in the moment during the broadcast, I couldn’t help but scream with excitement as my beloved TV personality, Jay Blades MBE, raised his hands high. And just when I thought my heart was going to burst, he warmly greeted the audience, introducing himself none other than the incredible Jay Blades MBE.

One viewer told the publication: ‘I couldn’t believe it when I saw he was online doing a session – it’s a website called MixCloud which DJs use.

He appeared to be a man who didn’t seem to have a worry in the world. He seemed to be enjoying a few beverages while dancing solo – perhaps this was helping him cope.

Eventually, he mentioned that he would reconnect online shortly and requested viewers to watch his channels for any fresh information regarding this matter.

During his live stream at some point, there was a report that he switched to display an image of himself with Judi Dench, which they had taken during her appearance on The Repair Shop.

TopMob has contacted representatives of Jay Blades for comment.

As a result of the allegations, various broadcasting companies are removing shows with Jay from their lineups, and planned programs where he was set to appear have been cancelled.

According to The Sun, Ricochet creators are considering Will, a furniture restorer from The Repair Shop, and Dominic Chinea, a craftsman, as possible replacements for Jay on their team.

According to reports, it has been announced by Channel 4 that there won’t be a second season of the travel series featuring Dame Judi Dench, titled “The Odd Couple,” due to the recent accusations.

It is reported that the planned documentary titled “A Country House Through Time” which Jay was filming has been canceled by Channel 5.

The show was the latest in a string of new factual programmes the presenter was set to host and will have seen the presenter explore a series of stately homes.

Last month, Jay stood before the magistrates at Kidderminster, accused of engaging in controlling and coercive behavior for approximately 20 months.

The single charge relates to his fitness instructor wife, Lisa, 43, who announced on Instagram on May 2 that she had walked out of the marriage.

On the next day, West Mercia Police initiated an investigation following a call to a specific location where they subsequently apprehended Jay.

The court records claim that he persistently exhibited behaviors that were dominating or manipulative, including both physical and psychological mistreatment, directed at Lisa Zbozen.

In my professional opinion, as a lifestyle expert, I must emphasize that the actions reportedly directed toward my spouse had a profound impact on her well-being, and I was fully aware, or should have been aware, that such behavior would carry significant consequences for her emotional state, as suggested by the charges levied against me.

The offences allegedly occurred between January 1, 2023, and April 9, 2024.

In November 2022, the pair got married in Barbados. However, in May, Lisa made a revelation via an Instagram post that she had left her husband, expressing that she was feeling deeply hurt.

As the allegations of controlling my wife surfaced, I found myself stepping down from my role as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation, a position I held dearly.

Last year, the furniture restorer, joined by other team members from the BBC program, received a Daytime BAFTA TV award for a unique episode that showcased a certain king. At the time, he was known as the Prince of Wales.

A particular episode featuring actor Sir David Jason on Jay’s program, titled “David & Jay’s Touring Toolshed,” was removed from the BBC1 Friday evening lineup after it was announced that he would be appearing in court.

Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that Jay has stepped down from his role as the chancellor at Buckinghamshire New University, having previously pursued studies in criminology and philosophy there.

He is due to appear at Worcester Crown Court next month to enter a plea.
