Mary J. Blige sets For My Fans Tour dates, including a stop at Inglewood's Intuit Dome

As a seasoned music enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of R&B and hip-hop soul over the past few decades, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation and nostalgia at the news of Mary J. Blige’s upcoming tour. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is coming to California, and it feels like a homecoming for someone who has been an integral part of my musical journey since the early ’90s.

What’s the 411? Mary J. Blige is bringing her For My Fans Tour to California in March.

On Monday, the reigning monarch of hip-hop soul made it official that her upcoming tour will feature three performances in California’s Golden State, with one of those shows taking place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Southern California.

I’m thrilled to begin this tour! My incredible fans have shown me endless love and support over the years, and I’m eager to visit all these cities and see them. This tour is dedicated to them, and I can hardly wait! I’m currently filled with deep gratitude and tranquility, so launching my new album ‘Gratitude’ on Nov. 15 before the tour feels incredibly meaningful to me.” (Mary J. Blige, 53, shared this sentiment in a statement released on Monday announcing the tour dates.)

Nine-time Grammy winner kicks off a 27-city tour on January 30 at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Subsequently, she’ll travel across the United States, performing in Inglewood on March 1, San Francisco on March 7 and Sacramento on March 8. The tour concludes in Boston on April 14.

Live Nation announced that the upcoming tour and album serve as a heartfelt tribute from Mary to her life, family, friends, and cherished fans, expressing her deep affection and gratitude.

Presales for tickets start from Tuesday, while general sales begin on Friday. However, Citi cardholders can purchase their tickets a day early, on Wednesday and Thursday, via the Citi Entertainment program offered by Live Nation.

Despite some fan disapproval, Mary J. Blige’s tour will still feature R&B heavyweights Ne-Yo and Mario, known for his hit “Let Me Love You.” This announcement has sparked debate among fans due to concerns about Ne-Yo’s personal life and requests for him to be removed from the lineup given his current image. Additionally, some have expressed surprise that Blige hasn’t addressed the indictment of her former producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, who played a significant role in her career.

As a devoted fan, I recently learned that the talented artist, renowned for his hits “No More Drama” and “Real Love,” and who electrified the Super Bowl stage alongside music legends Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in 2022, embarked on a solo tour towards the end of last year.

The tour titled “Good Morning Gorgeous” coincided with her album of the same name, marking her first release since finalizing her lengthy divorce from record producer Kendu Isaacs. Last month, she debuted the initial single from her new album, “Gratitude,” on which “Breathing” is featured. Her next performance will take place on October 26 at the AZ Jazz Fest in Glendale, Arizona.

In approximately a fortnight, the renowned R&B artist will be honored at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland (October 19), alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang and A Tribe Called Quest – all being inducted together.

In an appearance on “Sherri” last week, Blige said she had so much to be thankful for.

She expressed, “At this moment in my life, I’m overflowing with gratitude. I feel great, I’m employed and presented with many opportunities, I’m in good health, and so is my family. I’m surrounded by people who care for me, love me, and I have incredible fans. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my fans for the years of love they’ve shown me and the support they’ve given me.
