Colton Underwood and his husband, Jordan C. Brown-Underwood, have shared the news about the birth of their first child as a couple.

On September 26, it was disclosed that the couple had brought a new baby boy into their family through a surrogate. The baby’s name is Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood.

They shared delightful news about their family expansion, complete with pictures, on their Instagram profiles, now showcasing a lovely trio.

The post featured a snap of Colton and his husband with their son, who lay in a car seat. His parents couldn’t have looked any happier.

The post also featured a sweet snap of their child’s tiny hand holding one of his father’s fingers. 

In subsequent snaps, the child slumbered on one of his fathers and also enjoyed a bottle of milk. 

Four months have passed since Colton and Jordan revealed they were having their first child through a surrogate.

The couple shared the news on their Daddyhood podcast.  

A professional football player in the NFL enlisted a team of nine individuals, whose services totaled approximately $350K (consisting of a surrogate, egg donor, and associated costs), to help create three embryos, one of which was fertilized with his sperm and the eggs provided by a 41-year-old founder of One Blue Hill.

‘We have all male embryos,’ Colton disclosed.

Jordan added: ‘But we have two girl dogs, so I think it’s time for a boy.’

Underwood responded: “Indeed, we seem to be outmatched. However, within this house, it’s balanced. Nevertheless, I sometimes feel overwhelmed. Truthfully, we could use a bit more masculine vibe around here.

As a lifestyle expert, let me share a personal anecdote: The day I received the news that our embryo transfer had been successful will forever hold a special place in my heart. When I broke down in tears, it was like a domino effect – I saw my partner well up too, and we found ourselves basking in the warmth of a loving, joyous moment. It was truly the icing on the cake of the most memorable birthday (January 26) I’ve ever had. Over the following days, we took our time to share this incredible news with loved ones.

In terms of selecting a name for our little one, I must admit there’s a clear front-runner, yet we also have a few other options that catch our fancy. We’ll observe and feel out which name resonates best with him.

On Tuesday, it was disclosed that the contestant on The Masked Singer known as ‘Lovebird’ has faced challenges with fertility. Upon testing, he found out that his sperm count was a mere 4 (not millions), and sadly, 3 out of these 4 were non-viable.

‘There’s such shame,’ Colton told Men’s Health.

‘Given the numerous tasks women undertake during childbirth, it can seem unfair when men only have one essential role in the process, which is producing functional sperm. This discrepancy might lead some men to feel a sense of diminished pride or ego.’

Underwood decided to stop using hot tubs, saunas, taking baths, and undergoing testosterone-replacement therapy daily, as these factors were affecting his sperm count. After abstaining from these activities for six months, he was able to significantly increase his sperm count back up to the millions.

Despite having a million regrets in his life, he declared about being a new father for the first time: “It’s all worthwhile, and when the baby arrives, it will be incredibly fulfilling – I’m just grateful for the experience even more now.

In 2021, Colton started a relationship with a former Democratic campaign advisor. This was also the year when he openly announced his sexual orientation as gay, following a potential extortion attempt.

In collaboration, the married duo contributed to the production of Ryan Nordin’s short film titled “Scraps,” a project set in Montana that revolves around gay skateboarding. The upcoming screening of this film will take place at Oklahoma’s deadCenter Film Festival, scheduled for June 6th through 9th.
