As a dedicated fan, I find myself deeply moved by Paul Sinha’s courage and resilience. His journey, marked by his diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease, marriage to his long-term partner Oliver Levy, and his openness about his sexuality, is nothing short of inspiring.

Actor Paul Sinha, who is known for his role on “The Chase,” has shared his timeline for leaving the widely watched ITV trivia program.

The host of the television game show, who turned 54 in that year, received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease in 2019 and has frequently shared his experiences coping with this condition.

On Saturday, Paul shared with the Daily Star that he would step down from the show if his illness started impairing his capabilities. He explained that he didn’t wish to continue if it meant becoming a burden on the production team.

Currently, my Parkinson’s isn’t impacting my performance on the show – it doesn’t interfere with my ability to respond to questions, he explained.

If such an occasion arises, I’ll make sure to bring it to the attention of the production team. I firmly believe that moment will eventually arrive, and I don’t wish to impose on the program unnecessarily.

In May 2019, it was disclosed that the comedian and quiz specialist, Paul, had received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. He shared an update on his health through his Twitter account, expressing determination to battle with all his strength.

Expanding further in an impassioned blog post, the television personality said he was initially ‘in shock’, but ‘feels far more prepared for the new challenges ahead’ now he has a treatment plan in place.

Showcasing his signature wit, he humorously mentioned that participating on Dancing on Ice was no longer an option, followed by gratitude towards his family and fiancé for their support during this challenging time after his diagnosis.

Since 2011, Paul, also recognized as ‘The Smiling Assassin’ and the fourth chaser, confessed that the past two weeks have been incredibly challenging for him following his medical diagnosis.

However, he added that with a treatment strategy now established, he feels ‘ready to face the upcoming difficulties’.

Parkinson’s is a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged.

1) Three key characteristics include uncontrollable tremors, sluggish movements, and rigid, inflexible muscles. As Parkinson’s disease advances, these symptoms tend to worsen over time.

Just seven months after his diagnosis, Paul wed his long term partner Oliver Levy.

This June, Paul revealed that his friend’s careless drunkenness led to his secret being exposed as gay, as his mother found out about it during a house party.

Originally, he planned to reveal his sexuality in a thoughtful manner, but that chance was taken away from him due to a harsh joke played on him instead.

Appearing on an edition of Loose Women, he said: ‘Coming out to my mum was an interesting process.

At our home gathering, someone who had consumed excessive alcohol dialed my number and declared, “Your child is gay,” before hanging up.

He added: ‘It was not how I wanted her to find out, I thought it’d be more organic and sweet. It was difficult to have the agency of a decision taken away from you.

Paul also admitted he still doesn’t know who made the call.

He joked: ‘We going to have a poll, I’ll give you list of all the  friends it cold have been.’
