Naomi disclosed that she’s directed fresh consultants to look into the events transpired at her charity, Fashion for Relief.
The disqualified model asserted that the report by the Charity Commission lacked completeness and was potentially deceptive regarding the evaluation of evidence.
The guardian dog asserted that it uncovered substantial mishandling of finances, involving expensive hotel accommodations and luxurious spa services.
It was revealed yesterday that the organization spent approximately £12,000 on a flight to transport art and jewelry to Nice, and also spent £7,800 on a high-end hotel accommodation for a model.
The Charity Commission also found that of the £4.8million generated by Fashion For Relief between 2016 and 2022, only £389,000 was given to good causes.
A study revealed that out of the total expenditure by the charity from April 2016 to July 2022, only 8.5% went towards charitable grants.
Naomi was one of three trustees to be disqualified as a result of the probe.
To begin with, she acknowledged in a statement that since I represent Fashion for Relief, it is my duty to oversee its behavior and actions.
Regrettably, I wasn’t hands-on with the daily running of the organization, instead, I placed my trust in others to handle the legal and operational aspects. I was just a devoted follower, living and breathing their every move.
‘I want to assure everyone who has supported us that these findings are being taken very seriously.
‘I have instructed new advisers to undertake a detailed investigation of what transpired.’
Naomi emphatically stated that she’s “never received payment for my role in Fashion for Relief, nor have I charged the organization with any of my personal expenses.
For almost three decades, she has committed herself wholeheartedly to charitable causes, and her passion for making a difference through her work shines brightly,” she expressed.
Normally, I coordinate my volunteer work with paid jobs that help me cover my travel costs and other related expenses.
‘In cases where this is not possible, either myself or personal friends have covered the expenses.
Indeed, as per the details from the report about the particular hotel bill, it’s been confirmed that the charges were taken care of by my travel agent personally. This travel agent, not associated with our foundation, later confirmed they were reimbursed directly by an unrelated third party.
Naomi stated that she plans to examine every possibility, including potentially asking for a review, to make certain the report portrays a just and precise depiction of our business activities.
‘We believe aspects of the report are deeply flawed,’ she added.
