As a seasoned gamer who’s seen more than his fair share of reboots and sequels, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation about Zachary Quinto‘s recent remarks on Star Trek 4. On one hand, it’s heartening to hear that the Spock actor remains optimistic about the franchise’s future, especially considering the ups and downs it’s faced over the years.

Perhaps the tales will vary. Maybe we won’t be able to sprint at the same pace on other celestial bodies, but I firmly believe that anything can happen, and I think there’s nothing more rewarding for an artist than to revisit something following a period of time, and develop a fresh connection with it from a completely novel standpoint, offering a brand-new perspective.

He went on, “What’s fantastic about ‘Star Trek’ is it offers an infinite realm of possibilities.” Glance at the numerous TV series, the countless tales, the myriad characters and storylines. The sky’s the limit – anything can happen.

I find great pleasure in this franchise, which is why it has endured for decades – 55 or 60 years. If given the opportunity, I am eager and excited about the prospect of being a part of it.
