Shirley disclosed that every year, she undertakes a weight loss program as Strictly approaches.

On April 14th of this year, Shirley decided on a goal and shared it on Instagram, modeling a set of trousers that she’s owned for more than four decades.

As a devoted follower, I’ve come across a notion put forth by Dr. Steven Gundry suggesting that certain lectins may contribute to weight gain and long-term illnesses. However, I find it important to mention that the scientific evidence backing up this perspective remains scant.

She shared with Closer magazine: ‘I’m currently following the Plant Paradox diet, which is primarily focused on plant-based foods like nuts, seeds, fruits, and vegetables. It’s more about adopting a healthy lifestyle rather than dieting, as I believe traditional diets are ineffective. I’ve experienced ups and downs with my weight throughout my life.’

Additionally, Shirley adopts the method of intermittent fasting, implying that she consumes food within a six-hour span every day.

In an interview with Weekend Magazine earlier this year, she stated: ‘I shattered it recently due to a piece of Parma ham. I steer clear of anything that’s not green and hasn’t been grown underground. Whenever possible, I refrain from consuming it.’

The celebrity regularly participated in various spinning and yoga sessions, and kicked off every day with a two-hour walk.

After her 2023 retreat, she shared with TopMob that she shed approximately 9 pounds. She intends to continue practicing yoga throughout the entire Strictly series. Furthermore, she has also detoxified her body, and undergoes colon hydrotherapy in the mornings at 5 o’clock.

Instead of lounging around to soak up the sun, I attended every spin class and embarked on a two-hour hike, climbing steep trails that pushed my heart rate nearly to 179 beats per minute – that’s how challenging the ascent was.

‘It was a tough, tough week of hard work but I came back really rejuvenated.’

Following her participation in the 2021 retreat, she posted on Instagram: “I accomplished everything today and I’m drained yet swelling with pride for myself.

The hike was stunningly beautiful, with jaw-dropping vistas. Each class was informative and expertly delivered for every skill level, truly impressive.

‘I even tried volley ball today lol trampolining was an experience in itself.’
