Cate Blanchett wows in bright blue look in NYC - as she promotes her new Apple TV+ show Disclaimer

As an ardent admirer of Cate Blanchett, who has graced our screens with her mesmerizing performances for decades, I must say that her latest role in Disclaimer is nothing short of extraordinary. The Aussie actress, with her unparalleled acting chops and uncanny ability to embody complex characters, once again proves why she is a force to be reckoned with.

On a Thursday in New York City, Cate Blanchett showcased her stylish flair with an enjoyable, entirely-blue ensemble.

The actress, 55, looked incredible in a bold look cinched together with an edgy metallic belt.

She beamed with happiness while out in the Big Apple, her eyes shielded behind large sunglasses and her glossy blonde hair worn down.

Cate was wearing the look to promote her new Apple TV+ series Disclaimer.

In the show, the actress portrays Catherine Ravenscroft, a journalist, who initially attempts to destroy an enigmatic book sent to her, as it appears to depict her as the central figure and reveals her most hidden, troubling truths.

Alfonso Cuarón oversees the project, and Cate admitted that he provided her with the full series’ script – a decision she made before even reading it – causing her to toss the script angrily across the room.

During an interview on CBS Mornings, she expressed that despite generally being open-minded, by the third or fourth episode, she found herself thinking, “I really dislike her; how can I portray her when I have no feelings of empathy towards her?

Cuarón told her to ‘just keep reading’ and by the end, she regretted her earlier judgement of her character.

Later on, Cate mentioned that playing Catherine was difficult for her because there isn’t much dialogue, which made it hard to express ambiguity without revealing too much about the storyline.

At present, there isn’t much embarrassment or guilt in society, and it’s striking to see someone experiencing profound remorse over something in her past that she hasn’t addressed,” she pointed out.

She added, ‘It’s very hard in the world at large to get to the truth. And I think we all decide very quickly what the truth is, what the truth of someone’s experience is.

She mentioned that it was quite challenging to portray a person’s truth in its entire intricate nature, instead opting for a more fragmented approach.

The series also stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Kevin Kline and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

The seven-part psychological thriller is adapted from a novel of the same title penned by Reneé Knight.

The tag line is: ‘The past always finds you.’

‘Renowned reporter Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) made a name for herself by exposing wrongdoings and violations in society.’

When an unidentified author sends her a novel, it startles her to discover that she’s the central figure, and the narrative reveals her deepest, hidden truths, causing her alarm.

While pursuing the secret behind the author’s real persona, Catherine finds herself compelled to delve into her own history lest it brings ruin not only to her personal life but also to her bond with her husband Robert (Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

Beginning on October 11, the initial pair of episodes from Disclaimer will premiere, followed by new episodes being released every Friday exclusively on Apple TV+.
