Match recap: 100 vs R7

As a die-hard gamer, I can’t wait to share a quick rundown of the epic 2024 League of Legends World Championship showdown between 100 Thieves and Rainbow7 right here! Don’t go anywhere, this is one matchup you won’t want to miss!

100 Thieves and Rainbow7: An international boost

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been riding a wave of triumph with my League of Legends (LoL) esports team. Our recent performance in the regional championship has been nothing short of spectacular. Now, it’s time to take this momentum and propel ourselves towards international stardom!

100 Thieves bounced back after ending the 2023 League Championship Series (LCS) splits within the top eight. They managed to secure fourth place in LCS Spring 2024 and third place in LCS Summer 2024. Despite not managing to overcome Team Liquid and FlyQuest, who are known for their dominance in North America, it’s a performance that should be met with pride.

Regarding their performance in the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, 100 Thieves ended up between positions 11 and 14. Could they manage to secure a better standing this year?

Rainbow7 hails from Mexico and is one of the top-tier teams in the Mexican League of Legends circuit, known as Liga Latinoamérica (LLA). They have demonstrated their skills by winning both regional splits in the year 2023 and one in 2024. Unfortunately, they finished second in another split during that time frame.

At the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 (MSI 2024), Rainbow7 was unable to participate due to their second-place finish in the qualifiers. Earlier, their performance at MSI 2023 placed them 10th to 11th, and they ended up 21st to 22nd at the League of Legends Worlds 2023. There’s certainly room for improvement with results like these.
