As a long-time horror enthusiast who’s seen more ghostly apparitions than daylight hours, I must say that October is always a spooktacular month for us ghouls and goblins! But this year, it seems Netflix is serving up a chilling platter of departures that has left me feeling rather spectral.

In less than two years, October 2024 will be upon us, and we can hardly wait for the chilling horror movies and series that Netflix has lined up for release! With Halloween fast approaching and the air getting spookier by the day, Netflix is gearing up its audience by giving them a sneak peek into the horrifying content that will grace their streaming service in the coming month. Additionally, they’ve shared what horror-themed shows and films will be leaving the platform, so fans can make sure not to miss out!

During October, you’ll notice a plethora of fresh horror films debuting on Netflix, including titles like “It’s What’s Inside”, “Don’t Move”, “The Platform 2”, and “Time Cut”. The second season of the highly-anticipated Korean horror series “Hellbound” is also set to return. Moreover, Netflix plans to bring in numerous licensed horror movies to its platform. Next month, you can look forward to the arrival of the first season of the Showtime horror series “Yellowjackets“.

For October departures on the streaming platform, you can anticipate the entire Chucky series, It Follows, along with numerous other spine-tingling horror films, to bid farewell. Here is a rundown of all the upcoming horror movies and shows joining Netflix next month. Additionally, we’ve provided a list of every horror title that will be leaving.

As Above, So Below

Netflix release date: Oct. 1, 2024

The adventure “As Above, So Below” centers around an archaeologist who gathers a group of brave explorers to plunge into the depths of the Parisian Catacombs in search of the mythical Philosopher’s Stone. However, as they descend further into the catacombs, they encounter bizarre and unsettling phenomena.

Halloween (2018)

Netflix release date: Oct. 1, 2024

The movie “Halloween” can be seen as a follow-up to the 1978 film with the same title. Set forty years after the original storyline, it focuses on Laurie Strode, who has struggled to move past her terrifying encounter with the notorious killer Michael Myers. Over the last four decades, she’s been readying herself for his possible return, and when he breaks free from a mental health facility, she’s ready to face him again in their long-awaited confrontation on Halloween night.

You’re Next

Netflix release date: Oct. 1, 2024

The movie titled “You’re Next” centers around a rich yet fractured family who convene for a reunion at their isolated retreat. However, their peaceful gathering is disrupted when they become targets of a mysterious group of masked attackers, wielding crossbows, machetes, and other lethal weapons.

Yellowjackets season 1

Netflix release date: Oct. 1, 2024

1996 serves as the backdrop for “Yellowjackets,” a gripping tale centered around an exceptional high school girls’ soccer team. Their journey to a national tournament is abruptly cut short when their plane crashes in the vast, unforgiving Canadian wilderness. The survivors find themselves stranded, battling severe weather conditions and scarcity of food for nearly nineteen months. Facing extreme circumstances, they are compelled to make difficult choices and ultimately, resort to cannibalism in order to stay alive.

The show also focuses on the survivors’ lives 25 years later as adults. Although this traumatic event happened to them a long time ago, they’re still left living with the psychological scars.

It’s What’s Inside

Netflix release date: Oct. 4, 2024

As a diehard fan, I’d put it like this: Gathering with college pals before a wedding, we thought a fun twist would be a body-swapping game. However, as time passed, things took an alarming turn for the worse, and the evening morphed into an “existential horror.

A Quiet Place Part II

Netflix release date: Oct. 12, 2024

A Quiet Place Part II is the follow-up to the original film, A Quiet Place. It picks up where the first movie left off, focusing on the Abbott family survivors as they struggle to survive in a world overrun by sound-sensitive alien creatures. Throughout their travels, they encounter other survivors who may have good intentions or harbor ill will.
