Inside Phillip Schofield’s 31-year marriage to Stephanie Lowe as she STILL stands by disgraced TV presenter after This Morning scandal

Having seen countless stars rise and fall, I’ve learned that the showbiz world can be as unpredictable as a rollercoaster ride at an amusement park.

Philip Schofield is gearing up for a high-profile TV comeback following a 16-month hiatus, sparking anticipation among fans as they wait to see if he’ll address a specific matter in his broadcast.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I can share that I recently embarked on an extraordinary journey, leaving behind the comforts of my usual abode for a soul-searching sojourn lasting ten days. This unique adventure was part of Channel 5’s series Cast Away, which was filmed in a breathtaking tropical island in the Indian Ocean, keeping the experience under wraps until now.

Philip shared with his Instagram followers on Wednesday that his segments would start broadcasting from Monday, and he promised an open, honest look back at the past few years.

Since 1993, Philip has been wedded to Stephanie Lowe, and they have two adult daughters named Molly (age 31) and Ruby (age 28).

In the year 2020, Philip made a surprising revelation about his sexuality by identifying as gay. Despite this, he continued to remain married to Stephanie; however, they eventually decided to part ways later in the same year.

At that moment, Stephanie expressed deeply to The Sun: “I’ll remain by his side, gripping his hand. Each person ought to feel pride in living authentically.

“Additionally, our family stands firmly behind us, ready to aid us as we move forward. While this situation is challenging for everyone involved, I back Philip in making this courageous decision.

However, Stephanie’s life was shattered when the truth emerged in May 2023, revealing that Phillip had been involved in a long-term relationship with a younger coworker from ITV for several years.

According to reports, Phil and Stephanie haven’t gone through a formal divorce. Those close to the pair have mentioned in the past that she continues to harbor deep affection for him and will continue to be part of his support network, along with their daughters Molly and Ruby.

Ever since I parted ways with This Morning back in May 2023, prior to the public revelation of an affair, I’ve found myself away from the workplace. In the wake of my departure, my long-time colleague and friend, Holly Willoughby, also chose to step down. Since then, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard have taken on their respective roles, carrying on the legacy we built together.

Phillip quit ITV entirely after admitting he had lied to the Daily Mail about his the affair. 

Despite their strong belief that the star would no longer work due to his confession, Channel 5 proved them wrong.

I’ve been absolutely heartbroken lately, as Philip seems to be in an incredibly low place. He’s unsure of how he can get back to work again, and it’s just crushing for him to accept this reality. Yet, he also understands that there isn’t much he can do about the situation. He’s worried about who will give him another chance, as there seems to be no path leading back to ITV or the BBC for him.

According to my sources, Schofield’s friends are actively encouraging him to believe that he can lead a satisfying life outside of the entertainment industry.

One said: ‘Just because he may not be on telly again doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy his life. Phil isn’t so sure though.’

Prior to my upcoming performance at Channel 5, I had been rumored for a position on national radio – a passion of mine since day one. It seemed that the biggest commercial radio stations in Britain were eagerly vying to secure my services, aiming to attract new listeners away from competitors such as BBC Radio 2.

In December 2023, an ITV investigation found no evidence of a cover-up regarding the mentioned affair by bosses, and it also did not bring up any additional allegations concerning Schofield’s connection with a young crew member from the program.

According to industry insiders, contrary to suggestions of a mere cover-up or sweep under the rug, the move actually paves the way for the celebrity to secure a fresh lucrative contract, allowing them to resume their career in 2024.

However, it’s considered improbable that Mr. Schofilio will be back on television at this moment in time.

Now that ITV has clearly defined its stance on the Schofield affair, focus will shift elsewhere.

In the near future, Philip may find a suitable location to come back to, which could be outside of television at this point. However, a multitude of prospects have arisen for him in commercial radio, where he might receive substantial remuneration and rekindle his passion for his original field.

Neither Phillip nor his former partner spoke to Jane Mulcahy KC, whose report came out in December.

Ms. Mulcahy stated that the unnamed runner’s shift from “This Morning” to “Loose Women” was completely independent of Schofield, and she further added that only a single individual knew about the alleged affair, but chose not to disclose this information when it happened.

As a youngster, Philip initially honed his skills in community radio stations across New Zealand. Later, he moved on to work with the BBC, where he became the host of a well-loved program on Radio 1 and also presented Going Live.

It is yet to be determined if well-known British radio stations like Classic FM, Magic, Virgin, Heart, and others will make significant moves (or expand). Notably, Greatest Hits Radio has been actively recruiting notable figures such as Ken Bruce and Simon Mayo, who previously worked at Radio 2.

But sources have said Phillip could soon be back in work. 

ITV employees strongly criticized the external investigation into Schofield’s relationship with a junior coworker, labeling it as an attempt to cover up or minimize the truth.

One employee told the Mail of their ‘sheer bewilderment’ that only one junior worker was aware of the relationship.

2019 saw a revelation in the report that ITV had not concealed their relationship, and top management at the station had taken substantial steps to uncover the facts about it, long before the scandal surfaced, which was four years earlier.

The external evaluation concluded that the channel didn’t discover crucial evidence regarding the matter until Philip confessed in May, sharing with the Mail that he was indeed involved in the relationship and had previously lied about it.

ITV authorities stated that both Philip and an unidentified ex-lover consistently denied accusations about their romantic involvement. However, things took a dramatic turn when Philip resigned from ITV and issued an official apology following his departure.

Among the 48 individuals interviewed, it was just one junior employee who acknowledged prior knowledge about the presenter’s relationship with his younger male ex-colleague. This revelation came after he had made it public.

As a die-hard enthusiast, I can’t help but share the news that Philip allegedly declined participation in the investigation regarding his exit due to potential harm to his physical wellbeing. Intriguingly, Ms. Mulcahy mentioned that his mental state has reportedly worsened since then.

Phillip’s former colleague and lover also declined to participate in the report.

On his 62nd birthday in April, Philip and Stephanie were seen walking harmoniously with identical brown cockapoos, who were reportedly from the same litter. This friendly stroll took place only a few days after they celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary.

It is not known if they spent that special day together.

Lately, it’s been mentioned by Philip’s friends that he appears to be in a low spirits, as he seeks meaningful activities to enrich his life outside of broadcasting due to damage to his career and public image.

It seems they might have chosen to adopt a pet dog as a source of support during challenging periods, possibly together with his spouse.

A bystander commented that Stephanie has persisted in standing by her estranged spouse, and it seems they’ve each acquired a pup from the same litter of dogs.
