Dumbledore actor's son throws shade at Harry Potter reboot: "Why do it?"

As a die-hard Harry Potter fan who has grown up with these magical stories since their inception, I must admit that the idea of a TV adaptation brings both excitement and apprehension. The films have been an integral part of my childhood, and the prospect of revisiting Hogwarts feels like a dream come true. However, the thought of a reboot also stirs up questions about whether it can live up to the legacy set by the original movies.

Last year, when Max disclosed plans to create a TV series based on Harry Potter, the response was varied. After all, we already have eight amazing films, don’t we? However, a prolonged serial format could delve significantly deeper into J.K. Rowling’s books than the movies ever managed. It’s a conundrum, indeed.

Regardless of your feelings about it, the truth stands firm: Max’s adaptation of the Harry Potter series as a TV show has been given the green light. In fact, the streaming platform has made a 10-year commitment to bring the books to life, from start to finish. The production team is actively working on this project, and they have even put out an open casting call for the main characters – Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

Following the initial announcement, a number of actors and crew members from the original films have expressed their opinions. Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry, is enthusiastically backing this new project; Bonnie Wright (Ginny) is eagerly anticipating it; and Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) has publicly stated his interest in portraying Professor Dumbledore.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that the initial feedback towards this new project has generally been positive, but there are a few skeptics out there. One such individual is Jared Harris, known for his roles in Foundation and Chernobyl, and who happens to be the son of the legendary Richard Harris, who brought Dumbledore to life on screen. Recently, Jared has cast a bit of a shadow over the idea of a reboot.

Since Jared Harris is an exceptionally talented actor, The Independent inquired about his potential interest in portraying Dumbledore in the upcoming reboot, to which he politely declined. “No, thank you,” he said. ” frankly, I don’t see the point. The films were marvelous – let them be.

Richard Harris initially portrayed Albus Dumbledore in the initial two films of the original series – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Tragically, he passed away in 2002. Subsequently, Michael Gambon assumed the role, portraying Dumbledore in the remaining six films.

Max’s “Harry Potter” series does not currently have a set release date, but it’s likely we might see it on screens around 2026 or 2027. Are you planning to tune in?
