The Boys lands Snowpiercer vet for its fifth and final season

As a hardcore gamer and binge-watcher of all things superhero, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming season 5 of “The Boys”. With Daveed Diggs joining the cast, it seems that Eric Kripke has pulled off another masterstroke.

It’s possible that we’re over a year away from the release of “The Boys” season 5, but there’s already some exciting casting news to look forward to. A veteran actor from “Snowpiercer” has been added to the show.

According to TVLine, it’s been announced that Daveed Diggs will play a series regular in The Boys during its upcoming fifth and final season, as planned by creator Eric Kripke.

Daveed Diggs’ role in The Boys season 5 is a secret

At present, it’s clear that Terrence J Diggs has been added as a permanent cast member. As of now, Amazon has not disclosed the character he will portray, nor whether his role is that of a villain or a hero.

Previously, The Boys were forcibly taken and split up. Annie January decided to flee following Hughie’s signal. Her departure increases her chances of rescuing Hughie and the rest. Kimiko couldn’t stop Frenchie from being pushed into the van as he was under mind control. Simultaneously, MM was apprehended in the airport restroom while attempting an escape.

As a fellow enthusiast, I can see that Annie and Kimiko might have to rethink their strategies, which could potentially unite more Supers who share our desire to bring down Homelander. Alternatively, they might discover others yearning to join the fight against the escalating threats from Vought and become vigilantes.

Previously, Amazon has been secretive about its projects, such as the role of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, which remained unclear for quite some time. Even after it was revealed, there was a surprising plot twist that generated much anticipation.

What does this mean for Snowpiercer?

After completing a four-season stint on “Snowpiercer”, which concluded with a climactic and hopeful end on September 22, Sunday, it’s worth noting that the finale was well-prepared by the writers, having been given ample time to provide the series with an ending befitting its quality.

Indeed, regardless of who is cast in The Boys’ fifth season, one was not planned from the start. However, a spin-off or potential revival could still happen sometime down the road, but for now, we’ve reached the final stop on this journey.

The Boys season 5 isn’t expected to arrive until 2026.
