As someone who has followed Ellen DeGeneres‘ career for decades, it is heartening to see her finally find peace and contentment as she approaches the twilight of her public life. After facing immense scrutiny and criticism, it seems that she has finally managed to rise above the toxicity that surrounded her, much like a phoenix rising from the ashes.

On Tuesday, Ellen DeGeneres’ last comedy special titled “For Your Approval” debuted on Netflix, signifying the end of her career in the public spotlight as a well-known figure.

During a comedy show in July, the 66-year-old expressed that following his Netflix special, he plans to retire.

The special event takes place approximately two years following the end of her appearance on The Ellen Show, and it occurs four years since allegations about a toxic work environment surfaced, with Ellen being described as ‘unpleasant’ or ‘harsh.’

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but echo her words from the latest special – she’s beaming with pride about the person she has transformed into following the scandal.

As a well-known personality, your actions and words can be interpreted in various ways by others. And it’s likely you’ve come across the phrase that, “It doesn’t matter what others think about me, it’s not my concern,” which is a sentiment shared by Ellen.

She noted, ‘People might say all sorts of things beyond your control. However, what’s essential is that you know the truth, and that alone should be important to you.’

Throughout her career, DeGeneres acknowledged that she felt compelled to consider other people’s opinions as a means of measuring her own success.

If someone takes a liking to you, you’re accepted, but if not, you’re rejected. For my whole life, I’ve strived to please others and have been overly concerned about how they perceive me, as I expressed.

She shared that it was heart-wrenching for her when others might have seen her as unkind, an idea that haunted her for a considerable period. Over the course of her life filled with kindness, she feels drained now and no longer has the capacity to care in the same way anymore, so she chooses not to.

If I’m being truthful, given the option to be remembered as unkind or cherished, I would undoubtedly prefer to be cherished – or ‘beloved’. Indeed, being beloved is my preference.

As I embark on my retirement journey, I find myself grateful for the wisdom that comes with age. Now, instead of being a supervisor, a corporate identity, or a public figure, I am simply content to be an individual – a person.

She transformed into a character focused solely on giving and dancing up stairs, a task not everyone finds easy. Have you ever tried dancing up stairs? I wonder, would someone unkind perform such an act?

At the conclusion of every episode, she would say, “Be good to each other,” playfully adding in her special that if she had finished her show with the phrase, “Go take a hike,” people might have been taken aback, alluding to the claims of a harsh work environment and being unkind.

She playfully implied that she might be asked to leave for the third time, possibly due to her being perceived as harsh, advanced in age, and identifying as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Additionally, she playfully jested about certain accusations, disclosing that back in 2016, she began a friendly game of tag with her team members.

She confessed that back in 2016, she initiated a round of tag. She would pursue her colleagues throughout the entire studio, causing them alarm as she found joy in such antics.

She admitted, “As I reflect on it now, I realize that my actions may have appeared as if I was pressuring and intimidating my team members. I can understand how that could be misunderstood.
