Dancing with the Stars season 33 week 2 scorecard: Who went home on DWTS

As a dance enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, I must say that this season of DWTS is quite the rollercoaster! It seems like we have some powerhouse duos and others who are still finding their footing.

In the season 33 debut of “Dancing with the Stars,” held on September 17, no contestants were eliminated. Each dance pair was presented and showcased their first routine, providing viewers and judges with an initial assessment of their current standings and potential for improvement. The event was truly spectacular! As Alfonso Ribeiro mentioned in Week 2, the season 33 premiere attracted the highest viewership in years!

At the conclusion of Week 1, no contestants were sent home, but their scores have been combined with this week’s results to determine who will be eliminated. However, unlike previous weeks, it’s not just one team leaving this time, but TWO! That means double trouble, and the stakes are higher than ever. Don’t forget to cast your vote; every single one could tip the scale in favor of your favorite duo!

Hey there fellow gamers! Last week was like attending the movie Oscars, as all the tunes were hits from renowned, critically-adored films. So, how did we all fare this round? Let’s delve into the scores, dance moves, and the heart-wrenching first elimination of the season!

Warning: The following information may contain spoilers from the Season 33 premiere of Dancing with the Stars. If you haven’t seen it yet, consider streaming it first on Disney+ to avoid any spoilers. Enjoy your viewing!

Jenn and Sasha week 1 and week 2 score total: 38

This week, Joey and Jenna’s dance scores added up to 38, making it a total of 19 points each. It’s important to note that this is their second performance together in the competition. Unfortunately, despite it being their second time on the floor, their score remained unchanged from last week. Sasha, their instructor, pointed out some technical difficulties during their dance, which made it difficult for them to hear the music. Regardless, the judges didn’t offer any leniency. In this week’s performance, Jenn and Sasha danced the tango to “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” from The Great Gatsby.

Eric and Britt week 1 and week 2 score total: 30

Brooks and Gleb took it easy with their waltz to “The Godfather Waltz” from the classic film “The Godfather”. This week, however, their performance seemed stronger than last time. Yet, the judges were not impressed, with Derek Hough even giving them a score of FOUR. Yes, just FOUR! With this score, they ended up with only 15 points this week. I believe they deserved a higher rating.

Danny and Witney week 1 and week 2 score total: 42

Danny and Witney hit the dance floor with a jive to “Danger Zone” from Top Gun, a personal favorite of Danny’s. The duo scored a 21. Once again, this is the same score as last week, who will be the first team to break their first week’s score? Danny and Witney scored a total of 42.

Anna and Ezra week 1 and week 2 score total: 35

Last week’s dance performance seems to have stirred up a storm online, leaving me feeling quite overwhelmed by the negativity. But as they say, every new day brings fresh opportunities! I’ve moved past it now and am ready to take on the next challenge. The judges did mention that I need to infuse more emotion and vigor into my acts, which I fully intend to do. And yes, some may have noticed a bit of me emerging from my shell lately – it feels good to be expressing myself more freely. This week, Anna and Ezra scored 17 points, bringing our total to 35. Bring on the next round!

Chandler and Brandon week 1 and week 2 score total: 24

In the end, their debut dance worthy of stardom earned them an impressive 24 points in total (all judges gave them eights). Last week’s score was one point lower. The duo performed the rumba to “What Was I Made For?” from the movie Barbie. Just as I mentioned last week, Chandler and Brandon are a team worth watching as they seem poised for success.

Reginald and Emma week 1 and week 2 score total: 31

This past week, Reginald advanced slightly more than he did previously! The talented dancer Emma showcased the paso doble to “Ode to Joy” from Die Hard. However, it’s unclear if the judges observed any progress. They mentioned that Reginald is taking small, initial steps, which could refer both physically and metaphorically. Unfortunately, their scores were fairly low, amounting to a 15 (one point fewer than last week) and totaling 31 points.

Stephen and Rylee week 1 and week 2 score total: 43

These two are just too cute together! They really make a fantastic duo. Stephan and Rylee danced the Pasodoble to “Superman’s Main Theme,” from Superman. They were outstanding! It was an energetic performance, and it was evident that both of them were enjoying themselves immensely. The judges gave us an eight, people! In total, Stephen and Rylee received a score of 22, making their combined score 43.

Joey and Jenna week 1 and week 2 score total: 43

Joey and Jenna added another 22 points for a combined total of 43 over the first two weeks, making them a pair to watch closely. They performed the rumba to “Shallow” from A Star is Born, delivering a stunning display! However, I can’t help but notice that it seems teams are either excelling or struggling; there doesn’t appear to be much in between.

Phaedra and Val week 1 and week 2 score: 40

Phaedra and Val danced the foxtrot to the song “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Dreamgirls. They currently have a score of 21, which brings their total to 40 points. This is a significant improvement compared to last week! I’m excited to see what they will showcase next week, assuming they make it that far.

Tori and Pasha week 1 and week 2 score total: 36

Wasn’t that dance amazing with Tori putting so much emotion and energy into it? The judges seemed to focus only on the steps, but I believe her performance deserved higher scores, perhaps even a perfect ten. Unfortunately, they only gave them a 19 this week, totaling 36 points.

Dwight and Daniella week 1 and week 2 score total: 44

The duo, Dwight and Daniella, performed the elegant foxtrot dance to the tune of “City of Stars” from the beloved movie La La Land. I must admit, I didn’t expect them to be this impressive, but they truly exceeded my expectations! Wow, what a show!

Brooks and Gleb week 1 and week 2 score total:  38

Brooks and Gleb gracefully danced the quickstep to “9 to 5” from the movie of the same name, and what an enjoyable tune it was! It’s heartening to see them having a fantastic time as they danced. The pair received a score of 20, which we absolutely adore seeing! Last week, their score was a 18, so this is a significant improvement for them.

Ilona and Alan week 1 and week 2 score total: 39

At the end, but by no means the least important, Ilona and Alan took to the dance floor to salsa to the song “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” from the movie “Dirty Dancing.” The crowd and judges adored their performance, awarding them a total of 21 points, which combined with their 18 points from last week brings their grand total to 39! However, did they receive enough votes to stay in the competition? We’ll soon find out!

Who was eliminated on DWTS season 33 week 2?

I sure hope you voted, because it was a double-elimination night! ABC combined your votes with the judge’s scores and began to countdown the saved couples. We’ll cut to the chase, folks…the two teams who went home were Tori and Pasha and also Anna and Ezra. Guys, this is a post for another day, but Anna was not given a fair chance here. You’re telling me Reginald has voted to stay over Anna? Same with Tori! She just found her love for this and she’s kicked out.

Which contestant will leave the competition next is something we’ll discover on the following Tuesday, October 1st, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. You can catch it on ABC and Disney+.
