Hayden Panettiere puts on a brave face as she steps out in second outfit of the day after sparking concerns over her health

As a fervent admirer of Hayden Panettiere‘s talent and resilience, I find myself deeply moved by her recent statement addressing the controversy surrounding her interview with People Magazine. The heart-wrenching honesty and vulnerability she has shown throughout this ordeal serve as a poignant reminder that we are all mere mortals grappling with our own set of trials and tribulations.

On Tuesday in New York City, Hayden Panettiere bravely ventured out wearing her second ensemble of the day, following concerns about her wellbeing that were raised yet again.

The 35-year-old actress donned a cream top, pants of the same color, and a grey pinstriped blazer while carrying on with her promotional activities for the movie Amber Alert – following concerns raised by fans after her previous appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna.

For the event, she styled her fair hair in a neat, pulled-back style (updo) and accentuated her eyes with mascara, while painting her lips bold pink.

It seems that Hayden dismissed the suggestions made by fans about her supposedly slurred words and delayed speech during her most recent interview.

The appearance came one day after she shared a statement in response to the concern regarding her recent interview with People magazine.

The actress shared a post on Instagram to explain her ‘mumbled words’ in a video that became widely shared, which was about grieving the passing of her younger brother. Hayden suggested that the media had opted not to use clips from the start of the interview, and seemed to point fingers at the editing procedure.

Nevertheless, her live interview on Today provoked comparable remarks online when the well-known blonde woman shared insights about her mental health struggles and physical changes due to grief after the loss of her sibling in February 2023, during a conversation with Hoda (age 60) and Jenna (age 42).

Speaking with someone about the program featuring Hayden Panettiere on Hoda and Jenna, they expressed concern: “Her appearance seemed different. Her eyes lacked expression and her speech appeared delayed.

‘Another user echoed my thoughts, expressing they felt the same way and were sorry, meanwhile another commented that she appeared to be affected by something.’

In a different phrasing, the comment could read: “I didn’t want to come off as impolite since I’m not aware of her current circumstances, but she appeared to be influenced by something during the interview.

‘She was slurring words and her eyes stayed closed for too long at certain moments. Hope she’s ok,’ they added

On Sunday, she shared a lengthy commentary alongside a picture of herself posing in front of a giant screen displaying her name. In this post, she expressed bewilderment over the recent uproar and felt compelled to clarify her communication style.

The Nashville celebrity shared that she was feeling drained, as she hadn’t had a proper rest in several days due to an urgent matter concerning her pet.

She also noted that grief presents differently for each individual and added that it was ‘none of anyone’s business’ whether or not she was on any medication while processing her loss.

She wrote, “Let me briefly discuss the recent debate sparked by my interview with People Magazine.

She mentioned, “I find myself in a situation I never thought I’d be in, yet here I am, compelled to discuss it in an environment that won’t judge me based on my speaking speed.

Before the photoshoot, I hadn’t gotten any sleep for two consecutive days because one of my dogs was recuperating from an urgent operation,” she explained further.

She clarified that the session included an eight-hour filming period, followed by a planned one-hour on-screen conversation.

She began the interview positively, but for clarification, the initial part wasn’t featured in the article published by PEOPLE Magazine. To be clear, she was tired.

Panettiere explained, “My representative ended the conversation prematurely because it was clear that I was losing steam, particularly when the discussion turned more serious.

She remembered they proposed rescheduling the interview for another time, yet she felt comforted by their assurance that it would result in an “attractive composition.

She told us that we could reschedule the interview for another day or conduct a follow-up interview via Zoom, but she added that it wasn’t essential. Instead, she believed the interview had been deeply moving and emotionally impactful.

She added: ‘We were also told they would edit it and that it would be a beautiful piece.

‘Before the magazine publishes an image or conducts a video interview, they don’t give their approval. We will be able to view the interview once it has been published and made public.’

Then, she attributed the ‘slurred speech’ that people were noticing as a symptom of her grief.

“Everyone experiences grief uniquely,” she pointed out. “And whether I’m taking medication or not, that’s private information for me and my healthcare provider.

She explained that the ‘real issue here’ is how she was misconstrued and mischaracterized online.

She stated, “I’m conducting interviews for my fresh movie as I’m genuinely proud of it. However, the underlying concern revolves around the harmful nature of social media and a news environment dominated by sensational headlines.

‘Mental health is so important, and I hope those reading this now understand that what you say hiding behind a computer screen can have a detrimental impact on someone.’

She concluded her message with a note of gratitude to her fans who defended her.

To those of you who’ve stood by me during the turmoil, I cannot express enough gratitude. Just as I’ve mentioned earlier, I consider myself an ongoing project. After all, isn’t that what we all are? – Hayden
