As a dedicated follower of Lily Collins‘ journey, I find her story both inspiring and captivating. Born to the legendary Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman, Lily has had an extraordinary life that is not defined by her lineage but by her own unique talents and achievements.

Lily Collins, known for playing the lead role in the popular Netflix show “Emily in Paris”, recently appeared on “What What Happens Live”. During the show, she shared which song among those by her father, Phil Collins, is her personal favorite.

Lily is the daughter of rocker and frontman of the band Genesis Phil Collins, and Jill Tavelman.

As a completely smitten admirer, I’m excitedly sharing my revelation: Lily, aged 35, disclosed that among her dad’s numerous musical masterpieces, if pressed to pick just one, it would be the enchanting ‘In The Air Tonight’. Truly, there are countless favorites to select from, but if I had to make a choice, this timeless melody would undoubtedly take the crown.

During the interview, host Andy Cohen inquired about her favorite Genesis song. In response, she humorously shared, “It’s quite intriguing because I recall certain tunes from my childhood, but I’m unsure if they were actual songs by Genesis.

Lily, during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live alongside her Emily in Paris colleague Ashley Park, mentioned that she recalls tunes which she hadn’t actually heard outside the womb, as those melodies were played to her mother while she was still unborn.

She mentioned, “It’s odd because I recall old tunes from my childhood, but I can’t always tell if they were actual songs or just figments of my imagination.

‘Because they were like, in my head, as I was maybe in the womb.’

As a devoted fan, I had always cherished the melodies attributed to Genesis, some of which felt like they originated from within me. Yet, when I finally attended a Genesis concert as an adult, I encountered songs that left me astonished: “That’s a real song? I thought it was just a tune echoing in my mind.

2022 saw Lily expressing pride in her surname to Glamour magazine, stating that throughout her acting journey, she had no intention of altering it.

She shared that she is extremely proud of the legacy her surname symbolizes, given her father’s accomplishments. Yet, she identifies as a very proud daughter who chooses to carve her unique path. Contrary to some expectations, she opted not to alter her last name, expressing this decision to the magazine.

Lily said that it was frustrating tp be simply called ‘Phil Collins’ daughter.

I really wished I could oppose it consistently, as it didn’t align with my origins.

Adding: ‘And so I am really proud of where I am today because I know how hard I work.’

She thanked her dad for ‘being an inspiration,’ noting that the concert marked ‘the end of an era.’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me express that the recent performance I attended has left an indelible mark on my memory, one that will remain etched in my heart for all time. Words cannot fully capture the depth of my gratitude.

After 50 years of melodies, there are yet many generations to honor you, and I believe your legacy will continue long past the conclusion of this journey.

Lily, hailing from Guildford, Surrey, England, kicked off her acting journey at the age of 520, landing a role on Growing Pains for the BBC in 1992.

Apart from her role in Emily in Paris, she has also played significant parts in films like The Blind Side, Mirror Mirror, Love, Rosie, Les Misérables, and MaXXXine.
