The feds have come together in the Dick Wolf universe.
Wolf’s new show is gearing up for a big crime-focused episode. Even though the first season isn’t over yet, this episode will explore both old connections and fresh problems for the characters.
In April, the worlds of the TV shows FBI and CIA will collide in a special crossover event. According to showrunner Mike Weiss, the aim is to build out the shared universe established by FBI. The crossover episode will air as part of the CIA series.
Alana De La Garza (Isobel Castille) and Missy Peregrym (Special Agent Maggie Bell) will be joining Tom Ellis (Case Officer Colin Glass) and Nick Gehlfuss (Special Agent Bill Goodman) at the CIA. The first episode of the new series, CIA, premiered on February 23, 2026.
The next episode, called “Elimination Game,” features Colin and Bill working security at a major international soccer match. When they receive a bomb threat, they discover two of the players are targets. They then team up with FBI agents Isobel and Maggie to investigate.
Weiss stated that Bill had known the two FBI agents for a long time, as he’d previously worked with them at the FBI. “They were his colleagues for years,” Weiss explained.
Peyton List, who plays Special Agent Bell and is currently portraying her sister’s death on the show, won’t be showing her character dealing with grief during the upcoming crossover episode. List explained that when you’re at work, you don’t have the space to fully process such sadness. She added that the crossover episode will primarily focus on the CIA characters.
Because Maggie and Bill are already connected, the next episode will focus on Maggie meeting Bill’s new partner, Colin.
Peregrym added:
We have Bill helping us – he’s with the FBI, so he knows how things work. I’m starting to understand what’s going on with Colin.
The actress says Colin is acting a bit strangely, but she’s optimistic his character and hers can still collaborate. This episode will show Maggie helping Bill. While Gehlfuss is new to the CIA on this show, he’s a familiar face to fans of Dick Wolf dramas – he previously played Dr. Will Halstead on Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. However, after eight seasons with the One Chicago franchise, Halstead’s departure seems permanent, and Gehlfuss has confirmed he won’t be returning to his role as a doctor.
The special crossover event will be broadcast on April 13, 2026. New episodes of CIA will premiere on Mondays at 10 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS.
