Prince Harry expresses hope at The Diana Award ceremony
As a dedicated follower of Prince Harry’s journey, I can’t help but feel moved by his unwavering dedication to honoring his mother’s legacy. His address at The Diana Award was nothing short of inspiring, and it served as a poignant reminder of the impact one person can have on countless lives.
Prince Harry frequently discusses the impact of his late mother, be it through his revealing autobiography titled “Spare” or in public statements. According to a report by the BBC in 2022, he experiences her influence in nearly every aspect of his life.
A high honor
During the month of September in New York City, the Duke of Sussex attended The Diana Award on the 23rd. According to People, he also participated at the Concordia Summit where the award honoring Princess Diana was given out. He sat on a panel alongside two previous recipients of the Legacy Award. Speaking to Chiara Riyanti Hutapea Zhang from Indonesia and Christina Williams from Jamaica, he expressed his pride, saying “I believe my mom would be incredibly proud of you both.” He also acknowledged their courage at their young age, stating that “It’s impressive, for your age, to be on this stage, to have the self-assurance you do, and to speak as articulately and passionately as you do.
I’m confident that my mother would be immensely proud of each one of you. It’s not just about you individually, but all the award recipients…Your activism and compassion mirror how my mom lived her life and held her beliefs. The way you embody these qualities is truly inspiring. So, thank you,” Duke expresses.

Harry conversed with previous award winners initially, but later shifted his speech to address those who would receive the award in the future as well.
I’ve said it years ago and I’ll say it again – the younger generation are, not putting too much pressure on you guys, you are what give me hope. The courage that you have gives me hope, because every single one of us need courage in order to really move the dial and create positive change in today’s world, probably more so now than ever…So thank you to you guys for giving me and probably a whole lot of people in this room hope, and now we need to listen – constantly listen – and then act on the advice and vision that you have, because otherwise it’s your future that’s being stolen from you, and that is unacceptable.
As a passionate gamer, I wholeheartedly resonate with this sentiment: Today’s youth are confronted by numerous hurdles, yet their boundless empathy, resilience, and drive to create a better tomorrow are simply astounding.
