As someone who has walked the same glamorous yet tumultuous paths as Damon Dash, I find myself empathizing with his reminiscences of a bygone era. The pictures of him and the legendary Aaliyah in the Hamptons remind me of my own encounters with stars that left an indelible mark on my life.

According to Damon Dash, he did not attend the parties that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs reportedly organized, where officials claimed there were events called ‘Freak Offs,’ which were said to involve sexual displays.

The 53-year-old music executive in an Instagram Stories clip Sunday spoke about Diddy’s ‘shocking’ situation, as the Grammy-winner, 54, remains incarcerated amid his arrest a week ago on sex trafficking allegations.

As a native of New York City, I find myself reminiscing about an unforgettable summer day in East Hampton, New York, back in July 2000. In a remarkable turn of events, I found myself surrounded by some truly iconic figures within the entertainment world – Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Jay-Z, and the radiant Aaliyah, who at that time, was my partner in love and life. These cherished moments were captured for posterity in a series of photographs that have since resurfaced.

Dash shared that his relationship with the singer of Are You That Somebody, which persisted until her passing in August 2001 at the young age of 22, started in an affluent region of New York State.

Nothing out of the ordinary took place in the Hamptons on that day – it was the day I encountered Aaliyah, as Dash mentioned, referring to photos that have surfaced following Combs’ arrest.

20 years back, we spent some time there, afterwards we departed, and that was the story, mentioned Dash. It wasn’t in Los Angeles or Miami at that point.

He added: ‘I know they’re gonna play games with those pictures. It’s all good, I don’t really care.’

Dash expressed that he wasn’t taken aback by the lack of response from the entertainment world regarding the Diddy case matter.

In a statement, Dash noted that often, people observe others engaging in questionable actions without speaking up, only expressing their disapproval once those actions are exposed as potentially unethical.

He added, ‘Whether it’s illegal or immoral for me I just break out, I don’t wait for people to get busted.

“If an action conflicts with my personal values, I won’t hesitate to distance myself from it without needing someone else to point it out first.

In the past, Dash was married to fashion designer Rachel Roy from 2005 to 2009. Together, they have two daughters: Ava Dash, who is 24 years old, and Tallulah Dash, who is 16. Additionally, he has a son named Dame ‘Boogie’ Dash, who is 32 years old, from his previous relationship with Linda Williams; another son, Lucky, who is 20, from his relationship with Cindy Morales; and a three-year-old son named Dusko with his fiancée Raquel Horn.

Combs last week pleaded not guilty to allegations of federal sex trafficking and racketeering.

According to the charges, the music tycoon is accused of mistreating, intimidating, and manipulating women for personal sexual gratification, to safeguard his public image, and hide his actions, with claims dating back to 2008.

Twice, Combs made an effort to secure his release from custody after being arrested, yet a judge mandated that he stay incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Combs, if convicted, faces at least 15 years in custody and maximum life sentence.
