Halloween Wars: All Stars: Meet all the teams and bakers, plus who went home first?

As a seasoned fan of Halloween Wars, I must say that this year’s All Stars edition is truly a treat for us fans! The return of Jonathan Bennett and the dynamic duo of Aarti Sequeira and Shinmin Li adds an extra layer of excitement to the competition. With former champions leading each team, it’s like we’re getting a masterclass in Halloween creativity every week!

Are you geared up for another thrilling chapter of Halloween Wars this upcoming season? In its 14th installment, the popular holiday baking competition introduces a fresh twist: eight teams will participate, with each team led by a past winner of Halloween Wars as their captain. The show is once again hosted by Jonathan Bennett, alongside judges Aarti Sequeira and Shinmin Li. The competing teams will battle it out for the championship title and a grand prize of $25,000.

The fourteenth season of Halloween Wars debuted on Sunday, September 22. The initial episodes functioned as the “qualifying rounds,” where each round featured four different teams competing. After the first episode, two teams were eliminated, leaving six to continue in the series for the rest of the season.

Meet the contestants competing on this season of Halloween Wars: All Stars

Which teams won and which teams were elimianted in the premier?

In the opening installment, the contestants were tasked with designing a distinctive creature fitting for a particular time in history, making it both engaging and mysterious. (Spoiler Alert: The teams worked on creating an iconic monster.)

  • Winner: Shriek Squad, led by captain Kristina Patenaude, won the first official challenge of season 14 thanks to their detailed creation of a medieval knight slaying a siren.
  • Eliminated: Sadly, Team Creepin’ It Real was sent home. Their task was to put a mummy in ancient Egypt and while the judges loved their buttercream sarcophagus, the lack of pumpkin in the overall design got them sent home.

In the second episode, the following four groups received an intricate task: transforming a peaceful individual into a fearsome creature, all while it was least convenient. Additionally, they were required to incorporate two contrasting tastes into their dessert creation.

  • Winner: 2 Ghouls and a Butcher won the challenge with their teen werewolf in mid-transformation and the fact they made their treat work with the flavors onion and chocolate.
  • Eliminated: The Bone Battalion team was sent home because they didn’t fully follow the challenge. While their creation of a woman turning into a sea creature in the bath looked great, it didn’t include the “mid-transformation” vibe the judges were looking for.

Fresh installments of “Halloween Wars” season 14 can be viewed every Sunday evening at 9/8 central time on Food Network. You can also catch up on missed episodes by streaming them via Max and Discovery+.
