As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I firmly believe that the well-being and happiness of children should always be prioritized above all else. In the case of Mama June Shannon and her granddaughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth Shannon, it seems just that the young girl is granted legal and physical custody to her loving grandmother.

Last week, a Georgia judge granted Mama June Shannon both legal and physical custody of her mourning 12-year-old granddaughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth Shannon. This decision was made during her ongoing court case against Michael Cardwell, the former spouse of her deceased daughter Anna ‘Chickadee’ Toney.

The 24-year-old fisherman, who was wedded to Anna from 2014 until 2017, has both legal and physical custody of their eight-year-old daughter Kylee Madison Cardwell. He strongly felt that his half-sisters should not be kept apart.

The judge pointed out in his decision that Michael had not given substantial financial assistance to the child in question, who expressed her desire to stay with her 45-year-old grandmother of four at a hearing in July, as reported by In Touch Weekly.

The therapist of Kaitlyn similarly stated under oath that she was apprehensive about being separated from June, who has been temporarily taking care of her since Toney lost her struggle against stage four adrenal cancer (which occurred at the age of 29) on December 9.

According to Shannon’s court documents, she asserted that Cardwell often physically harmed both Anna and their child during their marriage. However, Cardwell strongly disagreed with this claim, stating that they only parted ways because of differing viewpoints and personalities.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share this piece of news: In the court’s ruling, it was stated that any visits from [Michael] would only be possible if both parties and the child agree to it, unless otherwise specified.

In the June 21st episode of Mama June’s We TV reality series “Mama June: Family Crisis,” Anna expressed that she hoped Kaitlyn (who is believed to be the daughter of Caleb Clark, a reported high school sweetheart) would spend time with her second husband Eldridge Toney, whom she married last year.

In the year 2019, Shannon was deprived of custody over her 19-year-old daughter Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson due to her arrest on felony charges related to controlled substances (crack cocaine) and drug paraphernalia. The custody was instead given to her other daughter, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird who is 24 years old.

In the June 14th episode, the ex-warehouse worker clarified that some individuals believe he doesn’t merit or require Kaitlyn due to his decision to voluntarily relinquish custody of Alana.

Ever since I embarked on this wild journey, it’s been a whirlwind of ups and downs, but here I am, standing strong, having navigated the stormy seas for four years now, sailing clean. Life is back on course for me, and if there’s anyone out there doubting my worthiness for Kaitlyn, even my own children, let them bear witness – I am more than deserving!

On April 26, Kaitlyn proudly wore a necklace owned by her late mother to a middle school dance.

As Anna didn’t prefer to be buried, June kept some of her cremated ashes in a heart-shaped locket on a bracelet and similar jewelry mementos for her loved ones.

As a devoted admirer, I proudly share the unique keepsake – a token imbued with my idol’s essence. It bears her distinctive mark, and within it lies a part of her spirit, as she wished to journey with us wherever life takes us. And so, we honor her memory, always in tow.

Fifteen-year-old June was the one who initially presented Toney to viewers, during his debut on TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras.

In 2014, the cable network decided to end the continuation series of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, following its fourth season, because Shannon’s partner at the time, Mark McDaniel, had been found guilty of child molestation involving their family member Anna.
