Janet Jackson makes jaw-dropping claim about Kamala Harris that aligns with one of Trump's most notorious comments about VP

As a lifestyle expert with extensive knowledge and understanding of cultural sensitivities, I must express my disapproval towards such statements made by Janet Jackson about Kamala Harris. It is important to respect people’s identities and heritage, especially when it comes to race and ethnicity.

Janet Jackson has asserted that Kamala Harris, who is being considered for the Democratic nomination for president in 2024, does not identify as Black, and that her father is of Caucasian descent.

In a conversation with The Guardian, 58-year-old Jackson expressed a surprising viewpoint regarding the U.S. having its initial female African-American president.

The singer responded, “Apparently that’s what was mentioned, right? They claimed she wasn’t African-American. Instead, it was said that she was of Indian origin.

I’ve been informed that her father is Caucasian. To be honest, I haven’t caught up on the news for a while now, but I heard that they recently uncovered this information.

59-year-old Harris was born in the year 1964, with his mother being Dr. Shyamala Gopalan, an Indian-origin cancer researcher who immigrated to the United States, and his father, Donald J. Harris, a Jamaican-born economics professor of African descent.

They got married in 1963 but later parted ways in 1971, having already given birth to Kamala and her younger sibling Maya, who is now 57 years old.

In the year 2009, Gopalan passed away due to cancer at the age of 70. On the other hand, Donald Harris, who turned 86 years old, is now a retired professor of economics at Stanford University, having stepped down in 1998.

In the course of his career, Jackson’s sibling, Michael, encountered controversy due to a noticeable change in his complexion from dark to light. He attributed this alteration to a health issue known as vitiligo and vehemently refuted any claims suggesting he lightened his skin artificially.

Her unfounded assertion that Harris is part-white was likened to one of Donald Trump’s infamous statements about a candidate during his presidential campaign.

Trump suggested at the National Association of Black Journalists’ conference in Chicago, held in July, that Harris somehow became black during his speech.

He said: ‘She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage.

I wasn’t aware of her racial identity being black until some time ago, when it appeared to change. Now, she prefers to identify herself as black.

‘So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she black?

‘I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t, because she was Indian all the way, and then all of a sudden she made a turn and she went – she became a black person. I think somebody should look into that too.’

Days after, Harris countered Trump’s comments by stating that they were just more of the same old spectacle – divisiveness and disregard.

She added: ‘The American people deserve better.’

The vice president has yet to comment on Jackson’s remarks about her race.

Many conservatives were offended by Trump’s remarks about Harris’ racial background, with some of his own supporters expressing frustration that he wasn’t criticizing her policies instead.

Earlier this month, Trump appeared to double down on his comments about Harris’ race.

‘I don’t care what she is. I don’t care. Whatever she wants to be is okay with me.’

According to recent surveys, the contest between Trump and Harris is incredibly tight as Election Day approaches on November 5th.
