Selena Gomez tells haters to 'f*** off' as she responds to criticism after sharing she cannot carry children

As a dedicated fan of Selena Gomez, I find myself captivated by her latest developments both personally and professionally. Her openness about her bipolar disorder diagnosis is truly commendable, as it empowers others who may be going through similar struggles. It’s inspiring to see someone as successful and influential using their platform to destigmatize mental health issues.

In response to the criticism, Selena Gomez assertively expressed her displeasure towards critics, using a strong phrase that can be interpreted as “leave me alone” or “stop bothering me,” following the disclosure that she is unable to conceive children naturally due to certain medical complications.

At a Women in Film gathering, the actress from The Only Murders In The Building, aged 32, who shared a heartfelt moment with her goddaughter following her 2024 Emmys defeat, was captured responding to critics in a widely-shared video on X.

In the video, the performer spoke up to clarify that she was open about discussing her personal health matters and seeking assistance when needed, using terms like ‘vulnerable’ to describe this openness.

Gomez shared that she strongly feels that admitting vulnerability and asking for assistance when needed carries great strength, as she spoke this from a seat beside her little sister, Gracie.

What you’re suggesting is nothing to be ashamed of. Therefore, I openly admitted that I cannot bear a child and also that I have bipolar disorder. So, let me be clear, back off.

Following her remarks, Selena was met with cheers and applause from the other participants within the room.

As a committed advocate, I feel compelled to speak up for women. That’s why I openly share my experiences, and I do so honestly, as I believe everyone goes through trials in their lives.

Gomez frankly stated, ‘Things aren’t perfectly organized in my life. I’m not someone who fits into a specific mold. I’m just myself, and that’s the only person I can truly be.’

“Never let anyone make you doubt your goodness,” the ex-Disney channel actress stated, gently touching her sister’s shoulder for support.

At the close of the video, Selena declared, ‘Instead, disregard anyone labeling you as a victim. In my eyes, you are a survivor.’

Her reply followed not long after the celebrity’s interview with Vanity Fair during their October edition this month.

Speaking directly, I’d share that when engaged in conversation, Gomez confided that personal health complications prohibit her from bearing children naturally. It’s a challenging reality for her, just as it is for countless others facing similar circumstances.

‘I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.’

Nevertheless, Selena shared her desire to become a mother in the future. She added, “I hadn’t planned on it happening this way, I assumed it would follow the path that most people take.

I’ve moved on to a better situation with it. It’s truly fortunate that selfless individuals offer surrogacy or adoption services, as these options significantly expand my opportunities.

The actress commented, “That situation filled me with deep gratitude for alternative paths for those eager to become mothers. I belong to this group myself, and I’m eagerly anticipating the unique experience of motherhood, although it may take a slightly unconventional form.

Regardless if Selena becomes a mother through surrogacy or adoption, she declared that the child will still be considered hers.

As night falls, it doesn’t matter to me. It will still be mine. It will belong to me, just as a newborn child does to its mother, was the statement made by the singer of the Wolves to Vanity Fair.

Previously, Gomez mentioned her aspiration to become a mom someday. Earlier this year, in May, she disclosed intentions to adopt a child when she reached the age of 35, prior to her relationship with Benny Blanco.

At the Time 100 Most Influential Companies gathering, the celebrity shared, “For a period of five years, I was solitary and grew accustomed to being on my own.

As a person who values companionship deeply, I can relate to the fear many share about solitude. For approximately two years, I grappled with this fear, tormenting myself mentally within the confines of my own thoughts. However, over time, I came to terms with being alone and embraced it.

The performer shared that they had a plan, which involved adopting at age 35 if they hadn’t found someone by then.

It was confirmed towards the end of last year, in December, that Gomez and Blanco were in a relationship. Since then, they’ve been posting glimpses of their love life on social media.

Previously, the record producer mentioned on The Howard Stern Show in May that having kids is his upcoming ambition or aim.

At a certain moment, Stern expressed his belief in their future marriage, to which Blanco responded, ‘We’re on the same page here…I need to straighten up myself!’

Additionally, Stern inquired, “When might you pop the question? It’s high time for an announcement. So, when do you plan on proposing to your renowned girlfriend Selena?

Blanco replied, ‘Whenever I gaze upon her… I’m always left thinking, I can’t imagine a place where things could be more perfect.’

He further gushed, ‘People always said this to me, when you know you meet your best friend, she truly is my best friend,’ and added that Selena is ‘the coolest, nicest, sweetest…’

In another part of the interview, the songwriter expressed his desire to start a family in the future. He said, “It’s like my next big target on the board. I have many ‘God children,’ and numerous nephews. It’s something that resonates with me, I truly enjoy being around kids!

In addition to her recent conversation with Vanity Fair, Selena has been candid about her experience with bipolar disorder.

In May, she graced Hoda Kotb’s “Making Space” podcast and shared that she felt a sense of liberation following the public disclosure of her personal narrative.

‘I think, life can get distracting, and there’s so much noise. Titles don’t scare me anymore because I claimed my own story. I told my own story. And, I felt freedom from it.’

Over the weekend just gone, Gomez was quite active and graced the red carpet at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards with a stylish appearance.

She looked stunning in a tight-fitting, black velvet dress adorned with a sparkling silver border around the top.

Her hair, a deep shade of starry black, was neatly divided down the middle, cascading gracefully beyond her shoulder blades without a hint of strain.

At the glamorous gathering, Blanco was spotted too, and for a moment, they posed for photos together as he stood by Selena on that significant evening.

She had been nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, which went to Jean Smart for her role in Hacks.
