Marvel Studios is delivering on a promise it made seven years ago for Disney+. Back in April 2019, before Disney+ even launched in November, Marvel announced that the service would be the first place to find everything from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, that hasn’t quite happened until now (according to Marvel).
Disney+ has confirmed that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be available to stream starting Wednesday, April 15th. This means all of the official Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and series will finally be on Disney+, fulfilling a goal the company set seven years ago.
Marvel Studios successfully added all of its Disney+ movies and shows to the streaming service, but some projects faced delays due to distribution agreements. For example, the Spider-Man trilogy, which was distributed by Sony Pictures, wasn’t initially available. Homecoming and Far From Home were added in 2023, and No Way Home only recently became available on Disney+ in the U.S., three years after its release.
Just like with other movies, getting The Incredible Hulk onto Disney+ was delayed because Universal still holds some of the rights. It wasn’t added until June 2023. Although Disney now streams the film, a new solo Hulk movie is probably not going to happen.

As a Marvel fan, I remember when the Defenders shows – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher – were stuck on Netflix for years. It wasn’t until March 2022, when that deal ended, that they finally landed on Disney+. But even then, it took until 2024, with the Echo series, for Marvel to officially say these shows were part of the main MCU timeline. Now, with Daredevil: Born Again on the way, it feels like these street-level heroes are really back, and fully integrated into everything else going on in the Marvel Universe.
When Disney bought 20th Century Fox, some existing streaming contracts meant movies like X-Men and Fantastic Four weren’t available on Disney+ right away. However, they eventually did get added, just in time to build excitement for the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie.
Disney+’s Complete MCU Catalog Will Be Short-Lived – Here’s Why

Marvel Studios always intended to have all of its movies and shows on Disney+ right from the start. But because the ownership of some characters is complicated, it took a lot of negotiations and agreements over several years to finally get everything available on the streaming service.
By 2026, Disney+ will likely have the complete collection of Marvel Cinematic Universe films and a large portion of the older Marvel library available to stream. With major events like Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars wrapping up years of storytelling, it’s an ideal moment for fans to revisit both major sagas of the MCU.
Disney+ will soon lose its complete collection of Marvel Cinematic Universe content. After Spider-Man: Brand New Day premieres in July, it won’t return to Disney+ until after an 18-month period of being exclusive to Netflix. This means Disney+ could be missing content again until around mid-2028, potentially coinciding with the release of Spider-Man 5 and restarting the cycle.
Although Disney+ has a large collection of Marvel movies and shows, the biggest Marvel TV series of 2026 will surprisingly premiere on a different streaming service. This marks Sony’s first venture into making TV shows based on its Marvel properties, dealing a setback to Disney+.
