The MCU movie we've been waiting for is happening after the Multiverse Saga

As a gamer with over two decades of Marvel comic book and movie history under my belt, I must say that the Multiverse Saga is like a dream come true for this old-school fan. The prospect of a World War Hulk movie has been a long-standing wish of mine since I first read the comics back in the late 90s.

Presently, Marvel’s primary emphasis lies with The Multiverse Saga. This expansive storyline delves into the increasingly intricate realm of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s no longer a single universe we’re exploring; instead, there are numerous realms, showcased in productions like Deadpool and Wolverine, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, What If…?, Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and The Marvels.

Following the conclusion of the multiverse saga, additional heroic figures from different universes might make an appearance, such as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. However, the overall storyline of the multiverse saga is anticipated to wrap up in a similar manner to its predecessor (the Infinity Saga); with two epic Avengers films. These movies will be titled Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, marking the end of this era, yet also ushering in a completely new one.

From the forthcoming chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we don’t have extensive knowledge about what lies ahead, but it’s been rumored that many beloved characters will make a reappearance. One of these characters might even take center stage in the movie we’ve all eagerly anticipated for him to lead.

World War Hulk movie reportedly happening after Avengers 6

Based on recent news from Film News (previously known as Marvel Scoops), it appears that the Hulk will finally receive his solo film following Avengers: Secret Wars. Additionally, a World War Hulk logo image was included with the post, indicating that Marvel Studios might be preparing to bring the renowned comic book storyline to life on screen, something fans have been eagerly anticipating for years.

It’s completely normal if you’re hesitant to believe that since Marvel news is usually unconfirmed until officially announced by the studio. However, it’s important to mention that a World War Hulk movie hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there have been multiple reports from reliable sources suggesting this could be in the works. This rumor has been circulating for some time and has gained traction recently due to more insider reports and events within the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself.

The MCU movie we've been waiting for is happening after the Multiverse Saga

Alex Perez, an insider at The Cosmic Circus, has noted that while Marvel is primarily concentrating on the Multiverse Saga, they are also subtly setting up a movie based on World War Hulk. This development is evident in the background stories of recent projects such as Eternals, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, and Secret Invasion. The narrative is anticipated to unfold further through upcoming productions like Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts.

It’s important to mention that Perez clarifies the narrative won’t follow the World War Hulk comic book storyline closely. Instead, it will focus on grounded, government-related stories found within the MCU, rather than the space-oriented tale in the original material. This means Bruce Banner will struggle as he becomes increasingly concerned about governments weaponizing Hulks and using them for their own purposes.

If that turns out to be true, the timing would seem quite coincidental. Fans speculated that a World War Hulk storyline could be on the horizon after She-Hulk: Attorney At Law hinted at Hulk having fathered a son while on Sakaar. This son, named Skaar, first appeared in the World War Hulk comic series. It remains uncertain if he will feature in the MCU adaptation, but if the rumors hold that it’s aiming for a more realistic portrayal, distinct from Hulk’s space exploits in Thor: Ragnarok (assuming this plan comes to fruition).

The MCU movie we've been waiting for is happening after the Multiverse Saga

Following reports suggesting that Hulk, Hawkeye, and Thor, the last three original Avengers, will receive standalone films post-“Avengers: Secret Wars”, this news has been eagerly awaited by MCU enthusiasts. It’s been some time since any of the original team members have taken center stage, and this development could potentially pave the way for this project – a definite plus!

Should “World War Hulk” indeed occur, it would mark the second standalone film focusing on the Hulk character. While 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk” was the second movie in the series, it is sometimes disregarded because Edward Norton portrayed Bruce Banner/Hulk instead of Mark Ruffalo, who first appeared as the Hulk in 2012’s “The Avengers”.

For more than ten years, fans have eagerly anticipated seeing Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk as the main focus, and a World War Hulk adaptation would definitely contribute to this – particularly if it restores the character to his powerful, green form from his golden days. It’s high time we shine the limelight on the Hulk.
