Paddington is being removed from Netflix next month

As a lifelong fan of the lovable bear from Darkest Peru, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment at the news that “Paddington” is leaving Netflix. But fear not, dear friends! The 2017 sequel will still be there, like Aunt Lucy’s marmalade sandwich in a pinch.

Sad news, Paddington fans – the first movie is leaving Netflix quite soon.

The streaming platform has announced that as of October 13, the 2014 film will no longer be available for viewing in the UK and Ireland. So, if you want to watch it again, now would be a good time to do so.

However, it’s not all bad news, as its 2017 sequel will remain on Netflix for the time being.

The news arrives prior to the initial pair of films making a cinema comeback in the upcoming month, with the third one, titled “Paddington in Peru“, premiering on the big screen in November.

It’s also planned that Paddington will travel throughout the United Kingdom, as life-sized, hand-painted statues of this famous character are scheduled to be placed on park benches nationwide.

Sharing some exciting news! In a recent video, actor Hugh Bonneville announced: “I can’t contain my excitement as we will be placing several benches throughout the United Kingdom, each showcasing a statue of our cherished teddy bear.

Before the upcoming movie, fans, relatives, and acquaintances are invited for a friendly discussion with the honey-loving bear. Keep an eye out for further details about Paddington… soon to be found on a park bench!

In the third installment of the series, Paddington Bear and the Brown family embark on a journey to Peru to find Paddington’s aunt, Aunt Lucy, at the Retirement Home for Bears. However, upon arrival, they can’t seem to locate her, leading them on an exciting trek through the forest instead.

Apart from familiar faces like Ben Whishaw and Bonneville, the upcoming movie titled “Paddington in Peru” will also feature Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas, and Carla Tous as new additions to the series. Notably, Emily Mortimer is now playing the role of Mrs Brown, replacing Sally Hawkins.

In a recent interview, newly appointed director Dougal Wilson shared his reasons for switching the setting of the upcoming film from its original location.

He mentioned that for the third movie, it seemed fitting to go back to Peru once more, but this time bring along his London companions and embark on a new adventure there. By doing so, he hoped to provide some insight into aspects of the story that remained unclear after the first two films.

Paddington in Peru opens in cinemas on November 8.
