Mr. Crocket climbs out of the TV to kidnap kids in spooky Huluween Original

As a lifelong connoisseur of chilling tales and a devoted aficionado of the macabre, I can’t help but be captivated by the impending arrival of Hulu’s original horror film, Mr. Crocket. The sinister twist on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood has me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating a chilling experience that promises to send shivers down my spine.

Enthusiastically drawn to chilling tales akin to “The Ring” and other analog horror, I find myself eagerly anticipating the forthcoming horror movie on Hulu titled “Mr. Crocket”. Reminiscent of a malevolent take on “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood”, this film is set in a realm where Mr. Crocket, the star and host of a children’s TV show, has a hidden, sinister side. Unlike any friend you’ve ever known, Mr. Crocket enjoys emerging from the television to abduct children, and in doing so, he also murders their parents cruelly.

The original movie “Mr. Crocket” will begin streaming on Hulu this October, during their yearly horror event. This film is directed by the rising talent Brandon Espy, who also wrote the script with Carl Reid. Interestingly, it’s an expansion of a short film of the same name that Espy made earlier and was part of Hulu’s “Bite Size Halloween” in 2022. You can even watch the short version right here on this platform.

The initial short film concludes in a rather grim manner, as Summer (played by Cecelia Friday) is unable to save her son (Juliano Valdi) when he gets abducted and whisked away into the world of Mr. Crocket. It’ll be intriguing to find out how the movie develops this narrative further and whether it ends on a more optimistic note.

Actress Jerrika Hinton, previously known for her role in Grey’s Anatomy, takes on a role as a concerned mother who sets out to locate the malicious Mr. Crocket with the aim of rescuing her son, who has fallen victim to his recent actions. Additionally, Elvis Nolasco (known from Godfather of Harlem), Ayden Gavin (from Big George Foreman), Kristolyn Lloyd (The Bold and the Beautiful), and Alex Akpobome (Industry) are among the stars of this production.

Read the full synopsis below:

In 1993, a mysterious children’s show host, Mr. Crocket, magically emerges from television sets to kidnap young children, brutally slaying their parents in the process. After Mr. Crocket snatches her son, one determined mother embarks on a perilous quest to track down the demonic entertainer and rescue her boy.

The movie, titled Mr. Crocket, was primarily produced by WorthenBrooks. Arbi Pedrossian, Jenna Cavelle, David Brooks, and Carl Reid served as the main producers, while Sean King O’Grady, Josh Feldman, and Jesse Ford contributed as co-producers. Miles Alva held the executive producer role for this production.

Besides the main trailer you see up there, Hulu additionally released an intriguing, eerie sneak peek for Mr. Crocket’s World.

On this coming Friday, 11th of October, Mr. Crocket’s stream will start on Hulu. Don’t forget to explore the whole lineup of Hulu and Disney+’s Halloween offerings right here.
