NRL star Braith Anasta receives a very cheeky cake as a thank you for his heroic pub act

As a diehard fan of Braith Anasta, I can’t help but feel a surge of admiration and amusement as I recount his latest escapade. The man is not just a former NRL star, he’s a modern-day hero! His life experience has taken him from the hallowed turf of football fields to the unpredictable frontlines of Sydney’s pub scene, where he now finds himself battling against fire extinguisher-wielding pranksters.

Previously acclaimed NRL player Braith Anasta posted a photo of the playfully naughty cake he got after performing a valiant deed at a bar in Sydney recently.

On a Friday, the TV host (aged 42) had to step in during a peculiar occurrence at the Robin Hood Hotel. A guest, who was attending the event sponsored by Fireball Whiskey, took down a fire extinguisher from the wall and sprayed it around the front bar and the guests present.

In an amusing manner, Fireball expressed gratitude to Braith by sending him a comedically designed cake that resembled a fire extinguisher.

On Thursday, Braith shared a brief video on Instagram that showcased the dessert elegantly placed on a table within his lounge area.

Captioning the video, he labelled the brand’s way of saying thanks as ‘next level’.

‘Team @fireball_au are next level,’ he wrote. ‘The best cake ever.’

At a Football Finals gathering, which he represented as a host from the well-known whiskey brand, the co-host of NRL 360 found himself in the midst of unexpected events.

At approximately 8:30 PM, an unusual incident occurred as a customer grabbed a fire extinguisher from the wall and began to spray it in the main bar area, unintentionally drenching the surprised attendees.

Australian Daily Mail Showbiz reporter, Ali Daher, was present and saw Braith intervene when a man, thought to be around thirty, along with a friend, tried to leave the area with an item they weren’t supposed to take.

In an exclusive video footage, the individual who won the 2004 premiership with the Bulldogs firmly grabbed the other person by their collar, showing clear resistance to whatever was happening.

Although earlier accounts suggested Braith held the joker until law enforcement arrived, a police representative later explained that the individual had actually departed from the site before the officers arrived.

Braith told Daily Mail Australia he initially thought the antics may have been part of the night.

At the time of the incident, I was at the bar. That’s when I noticed a man grab a fire extinguisher, leaving me thinking, “Can it be possible that he intends to use this extinguisher?” He expressed this sentiment afterward.

‘He sprayed it at everyone, people were soaked, their clothes were ruined.

‘Everyone was shocked and disappointed, it ruined what was a great night.’

A representative from the NSW Police stated on Saturday: “At around 8:30 PM on Friday, September 13th, 2024, police officers in the Eastern Suburbs area were summoned to a hotel located on Bronte Road, Waverley, due to reports that someone had released the contents of a fire extinguisher within the establishment.

Upon their arrival, they discovered that the man was no longer present at the location. The hotel was subsequently emptied out, yet no reports of injuries have surfaced so far.

‘Police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances around the incident.

‘As inquiries are ongoing, anyone with information is urged to contact Waverley Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.’
