New Mortal Kombat 1 Khaos Reigns trailer shows off Ghostface
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must admit, the inclusion of Ghostface in Mortal Kombat 1 is nothing short of genius! The gruesome Fatality displayed in the latest trailer was a masterpiece that perfectly blends the iconic slasher brutality with the over-the-top violence that Mortal Kombat is known for.
The slasher’s Fatality is GRUESOME!
The expansion for Mortal Kombat 1 titled “Khaos Reigns” is about to drop in just a few days. This addition brings Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot as playable characters, along with an extended narrative. While the guest characters won’t be accessible at the launch, the latest trailer has left fans eager in anticipation of Ghostface joining the Mortal Kombat roster. And let me tell you, it does not disappoint!
Ghostface brings the classic slasher brutality to Mortal Kombat
The newest Khaos Reigns trailer unveiled more than usual, hinting at a novel game mode and additional Animalities. But the climax that stole the show was Ghostface’s surprise appearance. Fans were treated to a grisly representation of Ghostface’s Fatality, which featured not one but two Ghostface characters, authentically depicting the Scream series.
In The Fatality move, Ghostface number one stabs Sub-Zero deeply with a traditional hunting knife, tearing out part of his intestines. As Sub-Zero tries to escape, he collides with Ghostface number two, who suddenly appears in a reflection. Both Ghostfaces then brutally finish off Sub-Zero, leading to a gruesome end.
Lastly, as they conclude the deadly moves, the two figures face each other, cleaning their swords before bowing, wrapping up an exceptionally crafted fatality that leaves no doubt of its Mortal Kombat-worthy style. It’s undeniably campy fun, fitting perfectly for Ghostface in a game of this kind.
Who is Ghostface in MK1?
With NetherRealm Studios deciding to portray the character as two distinct entities instead of one, the query persists: Who do we find beneath the Ghostface mask? Regrettably, an answer is still elusive. It remains unclear whether Warner Bros. owns just the costume or the complete movie persona associated with it.
If we’re talking about the original character, chances are we won’t witness them removing the mask. However, if it’s not the initial character, then it’s highly probable that Billy Loomis and Stu Macher from the first Scream movie might put on the mask in Mortal Kombat 1.
When is Ghostface joining Mortal Kombat 1?
Although the official launch date for Ghostface hasn’t been announced yet, it seems likely that this character will be the first of three guest characters to debut in Khaos Reigns. As Halloween is fast approaching, it’s plausible to expect Ghostface to make an appearance in Mortal Kombat 1 sometime in October. However, we’ll need to wait for further updates after Khaos Reigns releases on September 24th.
