As a devoted fan of Bruce Willis’ remarkable career spanning decades, it is heartbreaking to witness his current struggle with health issues. Having grown up watching him bring action-packed heroes to life, I can’t help but feel a deep connection to this iconic figure.

In simpler terms, Tallulah Willis, Bruce Willis’ daughter, shared a heartfelt message about her renowned father as he battles aphasia and dementia.

On an episode of Today, airing Wednesday morning, the 30-year-old actress openly discussed her father’s current health situation. Her father, aged 69, was spotted driving on Saturday.

In February 2023, the family of the actor who played The Sixth Sense revealed that he had been diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), shortly after retiring from acting due to difficulties with a condition called aphasia.

On a morning talk and news show, Tallulah shared that the Die Hard actor is currently maintaining his stability, which under these circumstances is positive. It’s tough because there are days filled with pain, yet there’s an abundance of love surrounding him.

It truly made me appreciate every moment, something I’ll never forget. I strongly believe we would have been great friends. Without a doubt, I think he takes great pride in my achievements.

She also stressed the importance of being in the moment and present with her father.

In the past year, at the age of 29, Tallulah shared insights on managing her newly-diagnosed autism as well.

She explained: ‘I was misdiagnosed for many years, so only at 29 got my diagnosis, which is very common, specifically for adult women…

‘I’m very high functioning autistic, and my struggles are more in sensory, so being very sensitive to the world, and rather than more commonly people assume it’s communication.’

The star also opened up about her experience in receiving the diagnosis.

‘It was incredibly emotional. It was a feeling of relief. To be truthful, I had strong dislike for myself, believing I was severely flawed, so learning that the aspects of me I thought were illnesses or simply too much for this world are actually acceptable, and they just need some additional tools to manage them, made me feel much better.’

Currently, Bruce has five daughters: Mabel Ray (12), Evelyn (10) who are his children with wife Emma Heming Willis (46); as well as Rumer (36), Scout (33), and Tallulah (30) from his previous marriage to Demi Moore (61).

In my latest update to my followers, I shared some insights about my ex-partner’s current health status. During a recent chat on The Drew Barrymore Show, I mentioned that considering the circumstances, he is currently maintaining a steady and secure state of well-being.

“Tallulah Willis shares on TODAY about her dad Bruce Willis: ‘He’s holding up well, considering the circumstances, which is great. It’s tough; we have difficult days, but there’s so much love.’

Moore, who was married to Willis between 1987 and 2000, shared insights on how she guides her children through the prolonged health predicament within their family.

Moore explained that when speaking to his children, he advises meeting them as they currently are, rather than expecting them to be who they were or who one desires them to be.

“That place holds a great deal of beauty, joy, affection, and sweetness. Whenever I’m in Los Angeles, I make it a point to visit frequently as I truly value the moments we spend together.

On Sunday, Rumer was spotted with an enigmatic gentleman. In her own words, “He’s fantastic. I adore him immensely. Gratitude.

In May, Rumer shared during an interview on the Today show that her father was in a good state and developing a strong relationship with their one-year-old daughter Louetta, whom she co-parents with her former partner Derek Richard Thomas.

Before leaving for New York, she mentioned that she had the chance to meet him just moments ago, and it was touching to see Lou taking her first steps towards him.

‘He’s such a delight to be around because he exhibits characteristics typical of a “girl dad.” It brings out a nostalgic, childlike feeling in me. His kindness towards her is truly heartwarming and reminiscent of a father-daughter bond.’

In an open discussion, Rumer revealed that her family has been transparent about their personal health predicament, aiming to share knowledge and raise awareness for those facing similar circumstances.

She expressed that the openness and honesty her family displays about his situation means a lot to her. This transparency, she believes, could provide support for other families facing similar challenges, raise awareness for the disease, or potentially contribute to finding a cure. Ultimately, she thinks it’s crucial if it can serve anyone else in any way.

Over the past two years, Willis has been living beyond the public disclosure of his health struggles. On March 30, 2022, a collective statement from relatives such as his daughters, wife, and ex-wife was shared on Instagram, confirming his aphasia diagnosis.

It’s been reported that the famous figure from Hollywood has been dealing with some health problems lately, including a condition called aphasia, which affects his mental processes.

In light of recent events and after careful contemplation, I find myself bidding farewell to a profession that has been my life’s passion – a decision that is not made lightly but one that I believe is necessary. This transition is proving to be an arduous journey for my family and me. During these trying times, your unwavering love, empathy, and support mean the world to us. Thank you.

They went on to say, ‘We’re making our way through this tough time united as a strong family, and since he values each of his fans so deeply, we wanted to involve you all because we understand how important he is to you – and vice versa. As Bruce often encourages, “Seize the day,” and that’s exactly what we aim to do together.’

On February 16, 2023, the family released a statement confirming that Willis had been diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), which is often referred to as the most prevalent type of dementia. Unfortunately, at this time, there are no known treatments available for this condition.

As Bruce’s health deteriorates, we are hoping that any media spotlight can be directed towards increasing understanding of this disease which desperately requires more attention and study, said the family. Bruce was a firm believer in utilizing his influence to advocate for others and bring light to crucial matters, both in public and private settings.

It’s clear to us that, given the chance, he’d express his feelings and connect with others worldwide who are battling this devastating illness, sharing experiences about its effects on countless lives and families.

The Mayo Clinic explains aphasia as a communication disorder that may impair your speech, writing abilities, and comprehension of spoken or written language.

The actor’s family hasn’t disclosed the reason behind his speech disorder (aphasia), as it can stem from various sources.

The condition could occur following a head injury or stroke, or can be a predecessor to a brain tumor or Alzheimer’s disease. Patients who are living with the condition are typically treated with speech therapy and taught ways to communicate non-verbally.
