As a seasoned observer of public figures and their missteps, I find myself deeply saddened by the downfall of Jermaine Jenas. The man who once graced the football field with his skill and agility now finds himself entangled in a web of his own making.

After a break from social media, Jermaine Jenas’s wife has reappeared online for the first time following the end of his BBC contract due to him sending inappropriate messages to other women.

41-year-old ex-Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder Jenas is struggling to preserve his 12-year marriage due to confessions of sending inappropriate messages to two female staff members at the BBC, where he previously worked on Match Of The Day and The One Show.

He has since been accused of sending photos of his manhood to a third unnamed woman while working abroad during the 2022 World Cup, held in Qatar, but insists it was consensual.

On Tuesday night, Ellie, the former footballer’s wife and mother of their four little ones, announced on Instagram that she was starting a new business endeavor called Preppy Skin, which is a grooming line specifically designed for children under the age of 16.

“I can hardly contain my excitement to unveil something truly extraordinary, which I’ve been meticulously crafting over the past three years.

‘@PreppySkin is a novel line of personal care products specifically designed for children and adolescents. Being a mother of four, I recognized the need for an engaging, entertaining brand that also caters to their vanity needs, particularly my eldest’s desire for a visually appealing range of products to enhance her morning beauty routines.’

‘The collection begins with personal care products, with an incredible pipeline of future products.

Each item undergoes thorough evaluation, encompassing the packaging, fragrances, recipes, and most notably, its moniker – PREPPY.

‘We can not wait to finally launch this brand, and reveal all next month!’

In my own account, I, Jenas, have stepped down from my hosting positions on Match Of The Day and The One Show following the revelation of inappropriate messages I sent to two of my colleagues at the BBC.

As an ardent admirer, I’m compelled to share this: Recently, a confidant of Jena’s revealed to The Sun that I, Jermaine, vehemently refute the allegations about these messages being unwanted. Instead, these exchanges transpired between two individuals who willingly and mutually engaged in the conversation.

It’s been reported that he’s put in a lot of effort these past few weeks, aiming to mend his marriage and assist his children in returning to school. Moreover, it’s been mentioned that he deeply regrets the hurt he’s inflicted.

According to reports from the BBC, it appears that more female employees spoke up following a complaint made by one woman about unwanted messages, suggesting that they too had experienced such issues.

Later on, he publicly expressed his regret to the two ladies he had communicated with, and admitted to a newspaper that he felt embarrassed and believed he had disappointed everyone.

But now another woman claims she was subjected to what appears to be similarly inappropriate behaviour two years earlier, when the former footballer was working with the BBC commentating team during the World Cup in Qatar.

After being let go from the BBC last month, the former footballer expressed his sincere regret to his previous female coworkers about sending inappropriate messages. He issued this apology only after he was advised not to communicate with the two women because of ongoing legal proceedings.

But he insisted they were ‘between two consenting adults’ and that his behaviour was not illegal.

The dismissed host of Match of the Day expressed: “I feel embarrassed. I believe I’ve disappointed everyone – friends, relatives, and coworkers.

Jenas mentioned that he hasn’t been able to get a good night’s sleep since losing his job, and his wife, Ellie, has not yet shared her thoughts on whether their relationship will continue.

He said: ‘I mean, the anxiety builds up in your body over these types of things. I haven’t had any sleeping pills. I’ve just not been sleeping.

You simply remain there, thoughts swirling as if on an endless loop, until you lose consciousness. A portion of me yearns to step outside and keep running until I reach physical exhaustion.

Previously, a soccer player from Tottenham Hotspur, expressed criticism towards the BBC for their management of his dismissal. He stated, “The way they dealt with it wasn’t excellent. It was swift – and boy, it was rough.

‘I don’t think there was a game plan for when they were going to announce they’d fired me.

‘I think different departments were being told different things. I think it’s shocking.’
