On the face of it, it was the perfect romantic gesture from a loved-up man to his new girlfriend.

Interestingly, despite appearances suggesting otherwise, Eamonn Holmes’ getaway with his young partner Katie Alexander turned out to be a complimentary trip. This perk came as a result of him securing a significant contract to serve as an ambassador for the travel giant, Not Just Travel.
As a reward, the TV host had to create videos for the company’s social media channels during their leisure time, which was provided by Virgin Voyages’ cruise division on the ship named “The Scarlet Lady”. In other words, they were required to work while enjoying a free vacation on that specific ship.
According to the travel expert, despite appearing as if Eamonn was treating Katie to a lavish vacation without spending a dime, it turned out that the trip was essentially free for him.
The trip was included as part of his arrangement with Not Just Travel, meaning he effectively got compensated for the journey. This turned out particularly advantageous, more so since he was allowed to bring a companion along.

Subsequently, they navigated their way to Toulon along France’s sunny Mediterranean shore, followed by Marina di Carrara nestled between Tuscany and Liguria on Italy’s northern coastline. After a brief pause there, they continued southward to Civitavecchia, about 40 miles north of Rome, which boasts an ancient Roman port dating back to the second century.
Regarding their living quarters, it seems Eamonn and his partner may have enjoyed the most luxurious accommodation on the ship – a spacious 2,100 square-foot suite that would cost around £1,500 per night with little change left. This opulent room includes round-the-clock concierge service, an endless selection of drinks, a marbled bathroom, and comfortable hand-woven hammocks for leisure on the ‘terrace’ which features an outdoor hot tub.
Instead, Eamonn and Katie might choose to unwind by exploring the onboard spa featuring its clay, salt, and steam cabins, sauna, heated and icy plunge pools, and luxurious marble loungers in a hammam setting. They could then wind down for the evening at the VIP lounge – quite the treat if it’s accessible!
In May, Eamonn accepted the role as an ambassador for Not Just Travel, expressing his love for travel as ‘enchanting’. Additionally, he mentioned that the complimentary cruise would have been particularly beneficial. However, it was disclosed last year that HMRC required him to settle ten years’ worth of delayed national insurance and taxes. This amounted to an estimated sum of approximately £250,000.
According to travel reports, Virgin Voyages would have gladly welcomed Eamonn in his wheelchair since they aim to cater to an older clientele.
Initially debuting in 2021, their aim was to entice a youthful demographic with tattoo parlors, nightclubs, sex advice, and drag queen shows aboard. However, it seems that strategy didn’t succeed, leading them to informally reposition their brand towards older, more conventional cruise travelers instead.
During their recent break, Eamonn and Katie, the couple known for relationship counseling, received much attention. This was their second separation since Eamonn parted ways with his ex-wife, Ruth Langsford, in May.
The initial visit took place in August, and it led them to the presenter’s hometown, Belfast. However, the recent visit was marked by a touch of elegance, despite him needing to use an electric wheelchair for self-driving due to his severe back issues, with Katie accompanying him throughout.
