Actress Brie Larson, known for her work in Marvel films, is about to take on a fresh challenge. She will be making her first appearance on London’s West End stage in the play titled “Elektra”.

Starting on January 13, 2025, and running through January 18, an Oscar-winning actor will grace the stage at Theatre Royal Brighton. Following this run, the production will shift to the Duke of York’s Theatre in London for a brief but intense 11-week engagement from January 24, 2025.

Under the guidance of director Daniel Fish, based on an interpretation penned by acclaimed poet Anne Carson, “Elektra” is set to make its grand return as the principal modern reenactment of Sophocles’s ancient Greek drama in more than ten years.

The tale revolves around the main character, who is deeply affected by sorrow, the urge to live, and the desire for retribution following her father’s murder.

When Elektra’s estranged brother Orestes eventually comes back, she incites him towards a brutal and alarming end, but at what price?

Larson expressed his immense enthusiasm about participating in the Greek play, as well as working alongside Daniel Fish and Anne Carson, which he finds truly inspiring, he conveyed in a released statement.

“Storytelling has always been the way I organize life, feelings and experiences. I look forward to sharing space with the wonderful West End audience while we explore this timeless story.”
