As the glamour of red-carpet appearances can take its toll... Why stars are having Botox - in their FEET!

As a longtime admirer of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, I’ve always been intrigued by the lives of A-listers, their choices, and the lengths they go to maintain their star status. The recent revelation about Botox treatments for feet caught my attention, as it seems to be the latest trend among celebrities to endure the pain of high heels.

Even for celebrities, constantly wearing high heels at red carpet events can put a lot of strain on their feet.

It seems that an increasing number of people are turning to Botox, typically known for its facial applications, as a remedy for their problems.

This process, often referred to as a ‘stiletto lift’ or a ‘Louboutin treatment’, entails the application of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers in the foot’s arch and ball area.

It is said to offer relief from the pain of designer footwear, with Nicole Kidman among those thought to have tried it.

Botox is frequently used medicinally to curb excessive perspiration in areas like hands, feet, and underarms.

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share insights from consultant plastic surgeon Aenone Harper-Machin, who manages a private clinic in Chester. She highlighted that minimizing sweating could enhance stability and decrease friction.

Besides its cosmetic uses, Botox may help lessen the discomfort associated with plantar fasciitis – a prevalent source of foot pain in women between the ages of 40 and 60.

Meanwhile, the fillers are said to act as a cushion pad and absorb pressure.

However, Mrs. Harper-Machin, representing the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons, cautioned that incorrect procedures carry potential risks such as infection or clogging in an artery. In severe cases, a person might even have to forfeit a toe.

The procedure costs between £1,500 and £2,000 and the effects last around four months.

Lisa Kay, CEO of Sole Blresshoe company, stated: “It’s become apparent that many famous figures are resorting to Botox injections for foot comfort these days.

‘However, comfortable heels do exist. Stars like Julia Roberts, Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep wear our shoes for red-carpet events to keep their feet comfortable, even in five-inch heels.’
