Ronan Farrow supports mother Mia Farrow as she joins co-star Patti LuPone for The Roommate premiere
As a seasoned theater enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that witnessing Mia Farrow’s triumphant return to Broadway after a decade-long hiatus was nothing short of exhilarating. The red carpet event for “The Roommate” was a spectacle to behold, with stars from near and far gracing the stage.
“Mia Farrow didn’t go it alone when she returned to Broadway for the first time in a decade; her son Ronan was there on the red carpet to offer his support.” This way, the meaning remains clear and easy to understand.
79-year-old Farrow made a red-carpet appearance on Thursday at the premiere of The Roommate, marking her return to Broadway since her last role in Love Letters in 2014.
Alongside her 36-year-old journalist son, Ronan, she appeared, following a recent disclosure by Mia about her opinions on those who continue to collaborate with Mia’s former partner, Woody Allen, a week earlier.
Additionally, Mia was accompanied on the red carpet by her fellow actor in their two-character play, three-time Tony Award recipient Patti LuPone.
Jen Silverman’s play, first staged in Louisville back in 2015, had its Broadway premiere on Thursday at the Booth Theatre.
As a die-hard admirer, I couldn’t help but notice Mia Farrow strutting by, her cascading waves framing a silhouette of sophistication. Underneath a warm-toned jacket, she wore a sleek black blouse that caught my eye in an instant.
Additionally, she donned round-framed spectacles, paired with black trousers of a pantaloon nature and robustly-soled black footwear, for the occasion.
Instead of a black unbuttoned dress shirt, her son Ronan chose to wear a black shirt underneath a cobalt blue tailored coat, paired with the same shade of blue trousers and black formal shoes.
After the curtain fell on our exceptional debut, I proudly stepped onto the stage and bestowed flowers upon my mother and her fellow actress, acknowledging their outstanding performances that night.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about Patti LuPone’s impeccable style! She donned a striking long black coat adorned with silver sequins, paired perfectly with sleek black pants and elegant black pumps. Simply stunning!
Additionally, Grace Hightower graced the red carpet, adorned in a streamlined black gown accentuated by a stylish, intricately fringed wrap.
Kathryn Najimi, too, graced the red carpet for her Broadway premiere while dressed entirely in black.
At the premiere, Nicole Scherzinger made an appearance, donning a sleek, strapless leopard gown and matching it with open-toed heels.
In simple terms, “The Roommate” is a two-person play that tells the story of a woman moving from New York City who ends up sharing an apartment with another woman in Iowa.

2015’s premiere in Louisville featured Margaret Daly and Tasha Lawrence, while the 2016 edition showcased Jo Twiss and Rita Rehn.
In 2017, the Williamstown performance had S. Epatha Merkerson and Jane Kaczmarek; in 2018, the Chicago performance starred Sandra Marquez and Ora Jones.)
