Skye Wheatley breaks silence on her ‘plastic surgery addiction’ after brutal backlash over the ‘scary’ results of her fox eye lift and liposuction
As a woman who has spent a good portion of my life navigating the complexities of body image and self-esteem, I find Skye’s journey both inspiring and concerning. On one hand, I applaud her for being open about her surgeries and encouraging honesty in an industry where deception is rampant. It’s crucial to shatter the illusion that perfection is attainable without acknowledging the work that goes into it.
After facing criticism, Skye Wheatley addressed the controversy that arose when she underwent liposuction and multiple cosmetic treatments, despite being advised against it by her plastic surgeon, after having a fox eye lift this past week.
Previously known Big Brother celebrity specifically spoke to her worried fans, and someone claimed that she is the primary cause behind low self-confidence in young women.
An Australian social media personality, aged 30, is presently in recovery in Turkey following a partial facelift surgery. Initially, concerns were raised when she expressed her desire for a second nose job, a request made shortly after undergoing one in the year 2021.
After arriving in Turkey, Skye decided to visit her plastic surgeon for the contentious ‘fox eye lift’ cosmetic surgery.
This less-intrusive method employs absorbable sutures to elevate and stretch the eye, resulting in a more oval shape with a turned-up appearance. The effects usually persist for six to twelve months.
Skye posted on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, “Right now, I look quite frightening, so I’m keeping a low profile. But as I get better, I promise to share my healing journey with you, so there’s no need to worry.
‘Show us, we won’t be scared,’ one follower wrote to Skye on Thursday night.
‘Hahaha nah, it’s horrific,’ she responded.
“I’m confident about how things will turn out, as I’m following the process closely. I’ve documented every step of the way on my vlog, so you can witness the progress and see the results when I post the videos.
I’m recording this experience specifically for other women going through the same surgery, as it provides great comfort to see the entire process from start to finish.
She added the recovery from the procedure has been ‘overwhelming’, but that she has to be ‘patient’ for the results.
On a Thursday evening, Skye extended an invitation to her followers for a Q&A session, and she started posting her replies on her Instagram Story.
‘What did you get done?’ someone asked.
Apart from having a fox eye lift, Skye also underwent liposuction on her upper arms and inner thighs, a procedure for lifting the temples, and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).
A facial fat injection, or temporal lift, serves as a long-term alternative to skin fillers, while blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure on the eyelids.
She shared that her doctor mentioned her arms and legs had minimal fat, thus taking a small amount. So far, she seems quite pleased with the changes she has noticed on her arms, as stated in her Instagram Stories.
‘Legs don’t look much different, probably swollen.’
On her Instagram Stories, Skye openly disclosed a list of cosmetic surgeries she has undergone throughout her life.
That includes surgery on her nose, her breasts (twice), arms, inner thigh and face.
As a devoted admirer, I eagerly shared my personal insights with a fellow enthusiast, expressing apprehension about venturing solo to Turkey for that specific treatment, much like myself.
As a lifestyle expert, I can share from personal experience that undergoing the fox eye lift procedure left me temporarily blinded for a good three days. Needless to say, finding myself in an unfamiliar medical facility without my sight was quite disconcerting.
‘Why did you get the liposuction if you’re really fit?’ another follower asked Skye.
Skye pointed out that no matter how fit you may be, there will always be persistent pockets of body fat.
To be honest, while I do exercise regularly, my diet leaves room for improvement. I have a strong affinity for sweets and tend to indulge often, which makes me more of a food enthusiast than a paragon of health. Laughs!
‘He wasn’t even going to do it, he said hardly any fat, but I insisted.’
“I don’t dislike you, but I think your behavior contributes to why some girls struggle with self-esteem.
‘Everyone is going to have self esteem issues,’ Skye wrote back.
‘I know it’s sad because I see the beauty in the others but somehow it’s always different when you look at yourself…and I’m being open and honest about my surgeries because I DON’T want other girls who aren’t enhanced to feel like they’re not “good enough” or “not pretty enough”.
She added, “Everybody is lovely, whether they’ve had surgeries or not. However, what I find most problematic is when people undergo numerous alterations and don’t openly admit it.
There are numerous women online who have undergone surgical augmentations without disclosing it. I don’t want to be part of that group who remains silent about it.
On Friday, the fan replied to Skye with, “I have no questions, but I just want you to know that you look stunning exactly as you are.
As a lifestyle guide, let me express it this way: “Dear friend, rest assured that no external influence can alter my core identity, and I believe that’s what truly defines me.” – Skye
Discussing surgical procedures can be quite uncomfortable, as people rarely speak openly about them. However, I find myself inexplicably drawn to the process and wonder why there should be a taboo around discussing something that so many individuals undergo.
Skye shares every stage of her recent plastic surgery journey on social media, explaining the reason behind her posts.
The celebrity from “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” expressed discomfort with people who falsify their work history or procedures they’ve undergone.
It really irritates me when people act this way. I believe it’s much healthier to be upfront about the issue instead of keeping silent, as it might lead young girls to believe that such behavior is innate, when in fact, it isn’t.
This comes as fans, other influencers, and media personalities have discussed whether or not Skye might suffer from a plastic surgery addiction.
On Tuesday, I couldn’t help but tune into The Outspoken Podcast, where the dynamic trio of Amy, Sophie, and Kate Taeuber weighed in on Skye’s eye lift consultation video. As a devoted fan, I found myself sharing their apprehensions about the procedure and discussing it with friends later that day!
“Although I understand that the final choice regarding her body is Skye’s, I can’t help but express my discomfort since she’s just 30 years old.” This version maintains the original message while using more natural and conversational language.
‘She looks so young. She’s a stunning woman.’
Someone else noted that Skye’s openness was aimed at discouraging young women from idealizing her looks, so they wouldn’t question why they couldn’t achieve the same standard.
‘It’s a tricky situation because, on one hand, Skye is being open and honest, which is commendable. However, some might perceive her videos as advertising for the surgeries and potentially inspiring young girls to pursue similar procedures.’
On Skye’s TikTok, many worried fans have shown up in the comments section of her latest video blog from Turkey, urging the influencer that she doesn’t require a fox eye surgery or another nose job.
