If you’ve just wrapped up “The Perfect Couple” and are looking for something fresh, we’ve handpicked 12 shows similar to it that you can enjoy immediately!

Currently, “The Perfect Couple” stands as the most-watched television series globally! This captivating Netflix production, sharing its title with a novel by Elin Hilderbrand, made its debut on September 5, 2024.

Over the past week since it hit Netflix, this series has been skyrocketing to the top of the charts. It’s looking like it’s about to become a massive sensation, no doubt! With a stellar cast featuring the likes of Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson, Meghann Fahy, Billy Howle, Jack Reynor, and many more, it’s hard not to see why.

Although there are just six episodes available for “The Perfect Couple,” fans worldwide have been eagerly consuming it. With the series now finished, they’re on the hunt for more content to enjoy.

Let’s get the list of shows like The Perfect Couple started with The White Lotus!

The White Lotus

Among all the shows on this list, Mike White’s The White Lotus bears the closest resemblance to The Perfect Couple. Both series seamlessly blend comedy with drama. The casts in both productions are exceptional; it’s hard to imagine a television ensemble better than that of The Perfect Couple, even when compared to the talented ensembles featured in seasons 1 and 2 of The White Lotus.

As a devoted admirer, let me share my thoughts on “The White Lotus.” This captivating series weaves tales of diverse visitors gracing the White Lotus Resorts. In its first season, the backdrop is the enchanting Hawaii, where the resilient resort manager, portrayed by Murray Bartlett, strives to maintain order amidst a motley crew of demanding and exasperating guests.

In the second season, we rejoin the patrons at the White Lotus Resort located in Sicily. The ensemble for this season consists of actors like Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Will Sharpe, Michael Imperioli, Jennifer Coolidge, Leo Woodall, and Meghann Fahy, who is also recognized from her role in The Perfect Couple.

If you haven’t seen The White Lotus yet, this is the show for you on this list. You can watch both seasons on HBO and MAX right now. The White Lotus season 3 is coming to HBO and MAX in 2025.

Death & Other Details

Amongst all shows on this list, “Death & Other Details” is likely the least known one. I’d wager that a whopping 99% of readers haven’t come across the Hulu original series featuring Mandy Patinkin and Violett Beane yet. Launched in January, the show was unfortunately discontinued after only one season, but its short run shouldn’t discourage you from giving it a watch.

If you enjoy mysteries reminiscent of “The Perfect Couple”, then “Death & Other Details” is definitely worth checking out!

The storyline revolves around Imogene Scott, portrayed by Beane, who finds herself on a cruise ship amid an unfolding tragedy: someone has been murdered. Detective Rufus Cotesworth, played by Patinkin, launches an investigation into the crime. Join us as Imogene and Rufus delve deep to uncover the truth behind this enigma, with a hint of their shared past adding intrigue to the plot.

Watch Death & Other Details on Hulu and Disney+ right now!

Outer Banks

I couldn’t put this list together without including Outer Banks! The Winbury family from The Perfect Couple are the kookiest of the kooks, you know? They are very wealthy! With similar beach vibes, island setting, and elaborate mystery, Outer Banks definitely should be up for consideration for all those who enjoyed The Perfect Couple.

locating the shipwrecked Royal Merchant and the $400 million in gold that was believed to have sunk centuries ago.

To date, three seasons of “Outer Banks” have streamed on Netflix. The fourth season of this popular teen series is set to premiere on October 10th. Hurry and catch up like John B. did before the new season begins!

It’s not a murder mystery, but it’s a good time all the time.

Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies frequently comes up when discussing The Ideal Couple, and it’s not hard to understand why. To start, Nicole Kidman is among the stars in Big Little Lies. The series also unfolds the lives of residents from a prosperous coastal town. Much like The Perfect Couple, Big Little Lies is set in California, and its depiction of wealth and power is as prominent as that portrayed in The Perfect Couple.

The series tells the story of a group of community members who are bonded by an incident. It’s not what brings them together, but it is what keeps them together over the course of two seasons.

As a gamer, I’m currently yearning to dive into the captivating world of “Big Little Lies,” a series adapted from Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, which you can stream on MAX at the moment. Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten a confirmed date for season 3 yet. Reese Witherspoon and Kidman have hinted at its return, but as of now, nothing official has been announced!

The Undoing

“Let’s have even more of Nicole Kidman! This time, she’s involved in an intriguing mystery instead!” And while it may sound absurd, it’s far more substantial than what was presented in The Perfect Couple.

The television series “The Undoing” proved to be a massive success when it was first broadcasted on October 25, 2020 by HBO. The show is an adaptation of the novel “You Should Have Known,” written by Jean Hanff Korelitz, and was skillfully transformed for HBO by David E. Kelley.

The narrative unfolds around the affluent pair, Jonathan and Grace Fraser, portrayed by Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman. When a woman, with whom Jonathan was involved, turns up dead, he becomes the prime suspect. Determined to unravel the enigma and discover the true culprit behind the murder, Grace embarks on an intensive quest for truth.

There is only one season of The Undoing, and you can watch it on MAX right now.

Presumed Innocent

In the movie “Presumed Innocent,” it’s not Nicole Kidman you’ll see on screen. Instead, Jake Gyllenhaal takes on the role of Rusty Sabich, a prosecuting attorney who stands accused of murdering his colleague, Carolyn Polhemus, portrayed by Renate Reinsve.

The show debuted on Apple TV+ during the summer of 2024 and quickly became one of the year’s most binge-worthy productions. While it shares little resemblance with The Perfect Couple, it is an engaging mystery series that keeps viewers hooked, as they race to uncover the identity of Carolyn’s killer once they tune in.

David E. Kelley’s series ‘Presumed Innocent’ is adapted from the book of the same title written by Scott Turow. You might recall a movie version of it, which featured Harrison Ford in the lead role.

If you’re into deep, enigmatic tales, you certainly wouldn’t steer clear of “Presumed Innocent“. And guess what? It’s coming back for a second season soon! However, there will be a fresh set of actors and a new narrative to keep things intriguing.

Little Fires Everywhere

Little Fires Everywhere” is another overlooked TV show on our list that gained popularity when it aired on Hulu in 2020. However, its fame seems to have diminished significantly since then.

The show “Little Fires Everywhere” is adapted from a novel of the same title by Celeste Ng. It follows the lives of a family, the Richardson’s, living in Shaker Heights, Ohio, with Elena Richardson, portrayed by Reese Witherspoon, as the matriarch. The arrival of Mia, played by Keri Washington, and her daughter Pearl, played by Lexi Underwood, sets off a series of events that shake up the family’s life. Additionally, there’s a mystery of an arsonist in town adding to the intrigue!

I haven’t revisited “Little Fires Everywhere” in a while, which means my memory might be hazy. Nevertheless, I truly enjoyed the show when I watched it! If you haven’t seen it yet, you can catch up with “Little Fires Everywhere” right now on Hulu!

Virgin River

How about this: Instead of diving straight into intense matters, let’s shift our focus towards something more laid-back yet equally captivating – I mean, the show called Virgin River. This series follows Mel (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge), who ventures to the tranquil, secluded river towns of California to aid the local health center. Amid her own healing process, she attempts to make a difference in the lives of the Virgin River residents. She also encounters love with Jack, the local bar owner and all-around nice guy, played by Martin Henderson.

Virgin River carries a significant amount of dramatic elements similar to The Perfect Couple, yet it maintains a more grounded approach for the rest of its series. It doesn’t lean into the over-the-top or comedic style as The Perfect Couple does.

Hopefully, the sixth season of “Virgin River” will stream on Netflix towards the end of this year. Currently, you can catch up with the first five seasons that are already available on Netflix!

Behind Her Eyes

If you’re an admirer of Eve Hewson and have Netflix subscription, you might want to check out the series “Behind Her Eyes” currently available for streaming. This mystery show leans more towards psycho-thriller genre compared to “The Perfect Couple,” which does not fall under the psychological thriller category at all.

The series titled “Behind Her Eyes” is adapted from the novel of the same name by Sarah Pinborough. It follows the character Louise, portrayed by Simona Bartlett, who gets involved in a complex romantic situation with her boss, Adele (played by Hewson), which can be likened to a love triangle.

This series might not be my cup of tea, but if you’re into romantic psychological thrillers, it’s definitely worth a watch! You can stream the entire series on Netflix at your convenience.

Bad Sisters

Among Hewson’s works, I find myself more captivated by “Bad Sisters,” the Apple TV+ series that unfolds the tale of five Garvey sisters who strive to persuade an insurance investigator that they didn’t murder their abusive brother-in-law. It’s a delightful and humorous idea!

The show, based in Dublin, features Hewson portraying Becka, one of the Garvey sisters. Co-creator Sharon Corgan is also a part of the cast, along with Sarah Green, Anne-Marie Duff, and Eva Birthistle.

In my opinion, “Bad Sisters” carries a more ominous tone compared to “The Perfect Couple,” but it’s undeniably a humorous series. If you’re fond of dark comedies that also incorporate some element of suspense or mystery, then this is the perfect show for you.

Currently, the first season of the show “Bad Sisters” is available to stream on Apple TV+. Excitingly, it has been confirmed that there will be a second season, with its premiere scheduled for November 14, 2024. We’re already looking forward to it!

The Sinner

The Sinner” is intriguing as each season presents a distinct mystery, with some being more compelling than others. Unlike “The Perfect Couple“, this series has a significantly darker and mature tone. However, it stands out as one of the top whodunnits and mysteries on television over the past decade.

The TV show shares its title with a book by Petra Hammesfahr, and while it initially stays true to the source material, later seasons introduce some departures. Notably, Bill Pullman, who delivers an outstanding performance in “The Sinner”, plays Detective Harry Ambrose. Over time, Ambrose’s experiences of witnessing heinous crimes have significantly influenced his perspective on life, yet the allure of unraveling mysteries continually draws him back to his work. Primarily, the series focuses on Ambrose as he investigates murders, disappearances, and other perplexities.

Currently, there are four seasons of the show “The Sinner” available on Netflix. Unfortunately, it won’t be coming back for a fifth season.

A Murder at the End of the World

Back in November 2023, I was absolutely thrilled to catch the premiere of “A Murder at the End of the World” on both FX and Hulu. This gripping series is a masterpiece born from the creative minds of Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. The story unfolds in a chilling Icelandic resort, owned by a tech billionaire brilliantly portrayed by Clive Owen.

Tech expert Darby Hart receives an invitation to a private event in Iceland. Upon her arrival, she unexpectedly encounters her former lover, Bill, portrayed by Harris Dickinson – a man she still harbors feelings for. However, as the evening progresses, several guests meet a tragic end. With her tech skills, Darby becomes determined to unravel the puzzle behind these mysterious deaths.

The story titled “A Murder at the End of the World ” is significantly grimmer and more dismal than “The Perfect Couple“, but they share a similar foundation: in both tales, a murder takes place within a location where all the suspects, including the perpetrator, are lodged.

There’s only one season of A Murder at the End of the World on Hulu, and it’s not coming back for season 2.

So, that’s the list of the 12 good shows like The Perfect Couple to watch right now. Obviously, I prefer some shows more than others, but if you start at the top and work your way down, you can’t go wrong!
