Dexter prequel gets teaser and release date, Venom dances his last dance, and more

As a lifelong fan of dark, twisted tales and a connoisseur of anti-heroes, I must say this Thursday morning trailer party has truly outdone itself! The new Dexter: Original Sin teaser is a tantalizing glimpse into the making of one of television’s most intriguing serial killers. With Patrick Gibson stepping into the blood-splattered shoes of a younger Dexter, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with anticipation.

In the series “Dexter: Original Sin,” up-and-coming actor Patrick Gibson takes on the role of a younger Dexter, while more recognized actors such as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patrick Dempsey, and Christian Slater join the cast, with Slater portraying Dexter’s father Harry. Noticing his son’s violent inclinations, Harry acknowledges them and suggests they might be able to find a way to manage them. Michael C. Hall, who played Dexter in the original series, offers insight into Dexter’s internal thoughts throughout the show.

Back in 2013, the original Dexter series came to an end, but the franchise has been buzzing again lately. Just a couple of years ago, Michael C. Hall reprised his role as Dexter for a sequel show called Dexter: New Blood. That series wrapped up with Dexter’s death, but somehow they’re pushing forward with another sequel titled Dexter: Resurrection, scheduled to drop in the summer of 2025. And guess what? Dexter: Original Sin is set to premiere on Showtime and Paramount+ on December 13 this year!

Continuing with films centered around ruthless killers, the third and concluding chapter of “Venom” is approaching, featuring Tom Hardy portraying a weak human who combines with a vicious extraterrestrial symbiote. However, an unlikely friendship ensues, and together they work to save the planet. You can catch a glimpse of the action in the trailer for “Venom: The Final Dance” above.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve got to say that while the Venom movies have received quite a bit of criticism from critics, they’ve been absolute blockbusters at the box office. The first two films alone have raked in over a billion dollars combined. Now, for this third and final installment, Kelly Marcel – who’s been penning the series – is stepping into the director’s chair for the very first time. Of course, she’s also the one who wrote this movie script as well!

In “Venom: The Last Dance”, Eddie and Venom will engage in a battle against a terrifying foe known as Knull, a villain so chilling that even symbiotes shudder at the mere mention of his name. This thrilling film premieres on October 25 in cinemas.

Richard Madden stars as criminal twins in Killer Heat on Prime Video

Lastly, have a look at the trailer for the film titled “Killer Heat,” which is an adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s novel “The Jealousy Man.” Richard Madden, known for his work on “Game of Thrones,” stars as twin brothers Leo and Elias Vardakis. The siblings control the island of Crete through a powerful family. When Leo inexplicably meets his demise, his brother Elias’ wife Penelope (Shailene Woodley) enlists private investigator Nick Ball (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) to unravel the mystery surrounding his death.

The upcoming series “Killer Heat” offers a blend of crime drama, tropical escapades in Greece, and a gripping tale of twin intrigue, ready for streaming on Prime Video starting September 26.
